The reduction asked for are clas rate from one point In the atate to another. Mr. Ppena argues that this will reduce the through rate from Chicago to Pouth Da kota points and thus hurt the Omaha trade In .South T'akota, as Omaha Is not benefited by the redurtlon. For Instance, we will take one of the reductions asked." said Mr. Ppcn. "Say the rate of one clasa from Pierre to Rapid City Is 2S cents and the shipper "k It to be reduced to 20. The rate from Chicago to Flerre I M cent, and to Rapid City Is naturally 75 cents. If the reduction Is made, the through rate from Chicago will necessarily be 70 cents Instead of the 75. and Chicago merchants will benefit, while Omaha mcrchanta ara not benefited at all." .Bishop Beecher to Have King Replaced Mn. Though art whs crude then, furniture reproductions of that period are most comfortable and suggestive. Such furniture lends an image of the seventeenth century. Looking into the perfectly carved, beautifully designed articles, one beholds several horsemen of noble blood wending their way by night through a rich, wild forest, infested with relentless knights of the road. A large, clear moon throws upon the majestic timbers a pale but gentle light which causes long, somber shadows to rest peacefully upon the highkay. One sees the rideis move out from among the old oaks and go along the winding course to the summit of a hill. Here they look down upon the leafy ocean below and, in the distance, see the towers and spires of a city, resting in the pale moonlight. Our reproductions of classical styles will be found potent in imparting to the modern home suggestions of historic times. This carpet was so potent that whenever the king wished to travel he told the winds, and the carpet, with monarch, min isters, courtiers and attendants, would aocend and safely carry his royal highness to the palace designated. For our rugs we claim no such wonderful power as was possessed by Solomon's carpet, but we do declare they are the kind that will aid the imagination to recall days of the ancients. We know their qualities, their values and their potency so well that we do not hesitate to assert they will be rest ful and delightful companions for father, mother, and the children. For our January sale we have made concessions on our stock, fac tory and Kashmir rugs. On a majority o? the stock rugs we have lowered the price fifty per cent; on many we have reduced it a third. These ruga are made from carpets and borders which we have carried in stock. On factory rugs the prices have been lowered one-third and one-fifth. One-third has beenraken off the prices of beautiful reversible Kashmirs. These softhvtoned rugs are especially adapted for bed rooms. We have unique color schemes, attractive decorations and flowing draperies to harmonize with them. 918.A0 921.00 921.25 924.25 flttO.OO 92H.OO 940.00 921.75 924.75 93U.OO 945.00 922.50 924.00 945.00 95M.50 rttf.OO 965.00 Factory Rugs Atminster Rug 8-3x10-6. .$14.80 Ax minster Uug 8-3x10-6. .$16.65 Axmlnster Hug 9x12 $14.50 Axminster Ilug 9x12... .$16.50 AxuiiiiHter Hug 9x12 $20.
