After a moderate selling movement early In the day had run Its course the market grew dull and spirit less, with no pronounced tendency In either direction. Quotation, at the end of the dav were fractionally under Saturday s close. 'I he coalers were tha strongest feature of the list. The various southern lines were In good demand. Complete returns from the railroads of the country for November showed only a minor decrease In gross earnings, but a falling off of 11.67 per 'cent in net, the largest of the year. Coppers and kindred shares were easy In spite of some recovery In the metal abroad. Money continue to accumulate here and lower rate, for all accommodations are looked for. The quality of the cattle on sale wa. not very good, but thl. ha. been the case lately, .0 that It was nothing out of the ordinary tooay, Unfavorable advices from other market points made buyers rather bearish In their views this morning. A. a rule they started out bidding prices that were as much as a ?lme lower On the other hand the offer- means large and as It became apparent that buyers really needed the cattle, sales in many cases looked fully steady with last week. Still there was a tendency on the part of buyers to bear the market and they succeeded in getting some cattle at prices that looked 10o lower. Cows and heifers that suited buyers changed hands at prices that were not far from steady. Still it was apparent that the wire edge was off the trade and buyers did not snap up the offerings as rapidly as they did on Thursday and Friday of last week. The general market might be de scribed as steady to a little lower In spots. Good feeders were aotlve and strong again today. Buyers picked up the desira ble bunches about as fast as they could get to them and there has not been any day this month when prices were any higher. Thin stockers, on the other hand, were not very much sought after, but it will be remembered that they were lower last week, so that prices today were Just about the same as last week's close.
