Suppliea were light, but tne demand trom all quarters was very slack and sellers who obtained steady prices were tne excep tion and not tne rule. Almost everything nan to sell at lower figures and even at liberal reductions, offerings dm not seem to be very attractive. The general Inter est taken in the election ton ay accounntl tor a poor attendance of feeder buyers, while the slumpy appearance of eastern mutton trade doubtless caused much of the stagnancy In the lat stock branch of the market. Feeder strings, If they sold at all, had to move at figures the cheapest of the sea son, but regular price margins were Ig nored and declines are not quotable. Feed ing lamb had to be rood ones to Dass the 16 mark and ppe-weea were hardly salable at any price. Feeder sheep met with a few scattered Inquiries and sold more readily than thin lamb offerings. Fat sheeD and lambs found an outlet that was more accommodating, but nono the less sluggish. Sales carried lower fig ures all along the line, good fat lambs sell ing around tfi.16. and wethers of toppy quality bringing 13.lv') and less. Fat ewes would have to be prime to reach 1360. A few shipments of fed natives were Included In the run and brought small premium over similar quality grass offerings. uuotatlons on trans stock: uooa to choice lambs.
