Prices on Board of Trade.
CHICAGO, Nov. I Rumors that export
ealea had been made at St. Louis and in
Manitoba dragged the wheat market oui
of a bad hole today. Tlio close was firm
at a net advauco of Ho to Corn gained
He to Vahc, and oats finished unchanged

nickel decline.
There waa the largest trade in wheat
for many weeks, Kxcesaive depression
seised the market early and waa attended
by much liquidation on stop-loss orders and
ly Heavy short selling. Cn successive de
clines, however, large quantities of wheat
were taken by strong Interests. Many pit
traders were caught in the awlrl and were
forced to bid up price on each other.
Ht Ixjuls reported a round lot of wheat
os having been sold tor export cheaper
than by way of Chicago. Then sales of
fio.OiiO bushels to eastern millers were made
nere, the first transactions of the kind In
Kom time. All this waa in sharp contrast
with early dlspatchta about free offerings
xrom Australia ana ftunsia, nne crop pros
pert in Argentina and a big Increase in
the world's available supply. The fluctua
tions in the December option during tn
day ranged from ssSitso to SWc, with
trie oioae vo up at BlWiWlo.
Corn was stubborn all duy. December

NEW T1RK. Nov. 2.-The stock market
remained dull to the point of stagnation
touay, reflecting the suspension oi ope.a
tioris on a laige scale by tne powenul
financial interests which have fostered the
upward movement througn the moniu of
October. With the advent of dullness and
negiect there have emerged Into view va
rious features of tne market positions
winch arouse distrust. An example la
found In the Incident of the erratio fluc
tuations In Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago
and at. Louis stoo. The eaie yesterday
of a single luo-share lot of this stock at 1,
following sales tne previous day at 71 and
an Immediate rebound to 70 gave rlae to a I
widespread comment and oiiuclam. This
resulted In a request to the stock exchange
auinonuas to recora tne ma ana asked
quotations for the atock from time to time
today. From these it was shown that
after selling at 69 and 70 there waa no
better bid at one time than 61 ' for the
stock, although none was offered at that
time at less than 68!. Previous to this
week the stock had not sold under 70 dur
ing the present year.
'Jhe day development In the money
market pointed to relaxation In tha im
mediate future. A decline In foreign rates
here and a rise In the New York exchange
In Chicago both pointed to lightened pres
sure on New York money supplies from
outside soui-cos. The subtreasury, however,
increased its requisition for cash on the
New York banks. The local call loan rat
rose today to 44 per cent, making the
highest of the fall season.

nd lamla totlay were large, but big strings
of tailing art still showing up from the
western country and mutton and fat lamb
string are available only by making deep
sorts. A few half-fat consignment from
he corn belt were Included In the run. but
packers are showing very little Interest
this elas of stock, and much of It Is
olng back Into th country for a final
inish at feeder price.
Trade In all of Its branches wa very
low this morning. Movement wa void of
f and inquiries for both killers and feed-
ra were anything but snstiDy. Parker
in th eaat are being heavily supplied wltn
stive stuff and. In most respects, local
tagnancy is nothing more than a rel lec
tion ot conditions at eastern markets. Val
ues weakened from the opening, fat lambs
moving at figures around a dime lower
nd fat sheep selling at shaded prices.
Mutton Is more easily retailed than dressed
amb, of course, which accounts tor lesser
ecllnes In fat wethers and ewe lately.
Collapse In th feeder market thle week
did not surprise trader very muoh aa the
remarkable demand from country lection
during the past two month wa due to
now considerable shrinkage, in point 01
ctivlty, today' trade waa one of the
ulleet of the aeason. In point of prinea,
level were the loweet. pee-wee lamb ell-
ng around 8J 2f'J3 S. Good fleshy lain 04
for feeding ar quotable up to 8A.75, a 32 60

heeD hav not suffered as muoh a lamb
and, while Jlow, are selling little worse
han a quarter lower than the same class
of stork at last week's close.

CATTLE Receipts were liberal again to
day rfnd the general quality ot tne offer
ings very fair for this time of tne year,
More favorable advice from eastern mar
kets and an improved demand from tnat
quarter were responsible for a generally
better feeling tn the trad and botn njulv
and western range beeves ruled strong to
a dime higher than yesterday. The outlet
was broad, the trade brisk and th move

day past. A usual, all olaea of buyer
favored th lighter weight steers and year

the dress beef man's standpoint found a
ready outlet at aood. atrong figure.
Improvement wa also very noticeable In
the market for cows and heifer. Outald
butcher had good order to fill and th

Despite tne improvement in fat cattle.
the trade In stackers and feeder continue
very dull. Country demand ha been dis
appointing all week, while the medium to
common kinds have been neglected and the
trtnd of values has been lower right along.
Stock heifers sold In about the same
notches as yesterday, but outside of tne
really desirable aradea 'the general mar
