10 j r Tlir- OMAITA SUNDAY BEE: OCTOBER 2. 1010. Dont Worry About Your Boys In the West it won't take much to give them a good start iiwiiiiii -' j fcl.lMH Jl ''BIT The An article appearing in the October, 1908, issue of "The Craftsman,' written by Mr. C. H. Forbes-Lindscy, describes his meeting, a man from Wall Street, who, there, is counted exceptionally well informed. He was visiting the west for the first time in his life. With an amusing mixture of chagrin and satisfaction, he confessed that he had known no more of the actual con ditions of our new country than if it had been in the Fiji Islands. The realty amazed him and fired his enthusiasm. "It is God's Country," he cried, with earnest conviction. "There is no better in the world; beats gold mines all to pieces." Then, after a reflective pause, "I tell you sir, the future of America lies in this western country. It has the resources, and it has the peo- pie, and they are getting there with both feet . I have been wondering what I would do with my boys. I know now. I shall send them out West, and if they can't make good, there is nothing in them." sternr'Lan We Exhibit To be held in Omaha January 18 to 28, 1911, will bring the West home to you. It will show as nothing short of a trip through the country itself would show you the actual conditions; and it will show you more than a trip could possibly show. Because a trip, no matter how arranged, could not take you to all the various communities that will be rep resented at the Western Land Products Exhibit in less than a year's time. Each com munity will have a man on the ground who will be able to tell" you about every subject in which you desire to question him. Each community will also have an exhibit showing soils, fruits, grains and vegetables. This exhibit is something no man should miss, especially if he is looking for opportuni ties to better his condition, to make his money bring him bigger results, because it will show him with but little expense to himself, more real facts about the west than he could posiibly gather together as a result of his individual efforts, The Omaha Bee and The Twentieth Century Farmer wish to convince the people about the wonderful possibilities of the West, and they are backing up the Western Land-Products Exhibit because they realize that an exhibit of this kind will show people more of the real truth about this wonderful section than any amount of pure talk; and their real interest in the upbuilding of this empire is due to the fact that they realize that it is upon the West that Omaha must depend for its future progress and greatness. i Q 0 V
