Resolutions .have been adopted at a spe cial metitlng of the Nebraska Swine Breed ers' association asking the next legislature to appropriate $7,000 to equip a hog cholera serum laboratory at the state farm. The request Is the result of successful experi ments at the I'nlou Stock Yards In South Omaha. . It will be the office of this laboratory to supply the serum free to the farmers of Nebraska, thereby making certain that they get - the pure serum and are not Imposed upon by- fakirs offering remedies. The " Union Stock '" Yards company fur nished thirty healthy hogs for inoculation and treatment with serum. The exprimenta demonstrated the value of the remedy be yond the shadow of doubt "If tha experiments are successful In South 'Omaha, hug cholera Is a thing or the past In .Nebraska," said the swine breeders, who, the hogs were given the experts by General Manager Buckingham. The experiment succeeded. The hogs died which, were not treated. Those treated are living today, strong and healthy.
