Omaha, 9: Lincoln, I.
Omaha. 4; Lincoln, 1.
The Rourkes tasted
revenge yesterday and
tha sweetness of
made up for the
eighteen-lnnlng Ion of the day before by
taking both garnet of the double-header.
The games were good exhibition! of base
ball, but Omaha had the be.n of It from
the very beginning.
Heavy hitting the order of the day,
particularly In the first game, with almost
twice aa many hlta for the locals as for the
Holy Cltylans. Rlggert again distinguished
himself, pounding out a three-bagger, a
two-bagger and two singles In five times
up. Corrldon was back In his old-time bat
ting form and walloped the sphere for three
hits In four times up. The swatfest con
tinued through the second game also, King
batting a double and a triple and Schoon
over sending out two singles, one bringing
In a run.
Mel tor took a strangle hold on the Prohi
bitionists in the second game and allowed
only five hits, two In the second Inning re
sulting in the lone tally. The Rourkes got
In a bad hole In the seventh of the second.
With only one out the bases were full, but
Melter forced Kruger to hit out an easy
fly and the best Wolverton could get was
an easy grounder to short, forcing a runner
out at second.
The first game was auspiciously opened
by Jude. the first man up In the first In
ning, who batted out the third ball pitched
for a three-bagger. Cole rolled a grounder
down to Kane and went out while Jude
scored. Gagnler grounded out and Cobb
was caught on an attempted steal after a
single.
Rhodes went around the ring for a score
In the third. He went to first on a walk,
was sacrificed to second by Graham and
tallied on Corrldon'a single. The fourth in
ning brought two more to the locals. Mort
ality walked, went to second on a pass
and scored on Cadman's single. Cad man
went to second on the throw In. Rhodes
went to first and Cadman scored when
Gagnler threw the ball away. Rhodes died
at first when Graham flew out to second.
Although Omaha singled three times in
the fifth, there was nothing doing In the
scoring line. In the sixth, with two men
down and Graham on first, Corrldon poled
out his three-bagger against the right field
fence. Corrldon scored on Weidensaul's
error, which also sent King to first. King
cored from first on Rlggert's three-sacker,
which bumped up against the blue quart
sign In center field. Kane batted an easy
grounder and Rlggert died at third.
Another score was made in the seventh
and two more in the ninth. The last two
were made possible by two-baggers by
Bchoonover and Rlggert.
Lincoln's tally In the fourth Inning was
made by Ty Cobb's brother, who went to
first because he stood still and watched a
pitched ball hit him In the chest. Ha went
to second on an error, to third on Cole's
out and scored on still another error.
In the fifth Jude singled. Gagnler
grounded, forcing Jude at second, but beat
lng tha attempted doubt to first. Ha went
on around to third on a two-sacker by
Cole. Both Gagnler and Cale tallied on a
single to cockman. Cockman met his fata
when he tried a steal with Cadman expect'
lng It. Lincoln s last score was made In
the eighth.
. The second game was all Melter's. He
kept the five hits scattered, except the two
In tha second inning, and made tha Lincoln
Ites bat out easy grounders and flies.
Cockman singled In the second Inning and
was forced out at second on Thomas'
grounder, Thomas going safe to first.
nomas stoie second ana scored on a
long single to left by Weldensaul.
Omaha scored twice in the third and
twice In the sixth. The two scores in the
third may be accounted for by tha fact
that the Rourkes batted Wolverton for four
hits, a single, two doubles and a th
bagger. In the sixth, with one down, Kane
hit out a tvo-bagger. Ha scored on a single
by Morlarlty, who went to second on the
throw. Morlarlty went safe to third on
Coekman'a error and scored on a single
by eohoonover.

Notes of the Game.
'Rah for Kumu!
Des Molnea opens here today for four
games.
Yesterday's attendance was one of the
largest since the glorious Fourth.
"Pa's sterling athletes" seem to be tak
ing tin that winning streak where they
left off.
Des Moines' schedule here will be some
what different from Lincoln's; there will
be one game day for four days.
Omaha had one or more men die on bases
In every Inning of the first game and in
all but two innings of the second game.
i Rhodes was not given a fair chance to
iee what he could do with a club. He
was walked three times out of four trials.
In the fourth Inning of the first game
Lincoln had three men on bases with no
outs and was allowed to bring In only one
run.
Lincoln's catchers had a hard time on
high fouls behind the bat. In both games
they would stop and watch then fall about
three feet away. Cadman didn't
Omaha might have had one less score If
Weldensaul had not stopped one of King's
grounders with his right eye on a sudden
bad bounce, letting King go safe to first.

CATARRH
A SPECIFIC BLOOD IMPURITY
Catarrh is a deep-seated blood dis
ease, one which no amount of local
treatment will ever permanently cure.
The beneficial effects of washes,
sprays, inhalations, etc., are only
temporary, and when left off the old
condition returns, because the blood
is Infected with catarrhal matter and
impurities. This impure condition
of the circulation irritates and in
flames the delicate mucous mem
branes and tissues and produces tho
well known symptoms of ringing
noises in the head and ears, mucus in
the throat, headaches, watery eyes,
partial deafness, sore throat, general
impairment of health, etc. This con
dition will remain, growing worse as
long as the catarrhal matter is al
lowed to remain in the blood. Being
a specific blood impurity, there is only
one way to cure Catarrh, and that is
to purify the blood. Nothing equals
S. S. S. for this purpose. It attacks
the disease at its head in the circu
lationand by thoroughly renovating
the blood and
cleansing it of all
impure mattei,
makes a perma
nent and lasting
cure of the dis
ease. For forty
years S. S. S. has
been recognized
as the best blood
purifier, and the thousands of cases of
Catarrh it has cured is proof that it is
the very medicine needed by those
who suffer with this trouble. Book on
Catarrrh and any medical advice free.
