The market opened with good inquiry for desirable shipping grades and the market on good light hogs was strong to 6c higher. Right good lights brought $9.06, which was the top price, as aguinut $9.00 yesterday and the highest price paid for hogs at this point since July 6, win n $9.15 waa the top. . Owing to the fact that packers' droves have been coaling very high at this point aa compared wtih other markets the trade on heavy hogs was rather slow early. Al one point packers were bidding 67 rGc lower for heavies, but sellers were backward about letting go, so that in the end pucker weie forced to raise their bids and heavy hogs sold steady tu around 5c lower later on becoming steady or very nearly sluudy. After allowing for the strength of light hogs and the weakness of heavy welgnts It Is safe to quote the general market as about Rteadv. there being little change In cither direction as compared with yestrJay. iteprcaeuiaiive saies: , 1 Prices Steady Id 94 taker osl tne It flew reived Murine; the Day. Monday and Tuesday the receipts poured In at such a rapid rate that almust every available pen in the big sheep barns was filled, but still there were none too many tu meet the requirements of the splendid buying demand. Thus It happened that when the market closed last night prac tically everything was dlspostd of and It only remained to dip and ship out the feeders. . This morning there was another very large fun, bringing the total for tne thre days up to 8O,4o0, as against 46,300 for the same days last wees; and 43,100 for the same period a year ago. This mean that the three days' receipts are the largest for any similar period su far this year. In Spite of the big run It was evident that buyers were not yet satisfied and everyone was out early In the morning looking or supplies. Not only were there a good many outside buyers- looking lor feeding sheep and lambs, but commission men's bands were full of orders and the market opened early and active. Desirable sheep and lamua changed hands rapidly at steady to stronger prices, some sales looking ss much ss loo higher. The big end of the re ceipts had changed hsnds lung before mid day. 1 peckers were also hungry for supplies and anything that would do to kill met with ready sale at strong prices, or at prices that were anywhere from steady to luo higher. Uood 4ambs sold up to 10.75. As the most of the receipts were on thefeeder otder packers were unable to secure any great number1. v,unt nuns --on grass stock: Good to choice lambs, $6.4066.75; fair to good lambs, 4o.164je.4v; feeder iambs, $4. 0046.36; handy aelgnt yearlings, 86.0uoQ.2a; neavy year lings, 84.00476.00; feeder yearlings, $6.0035.56; good to choice wethers, $4- 1OU4.40; fair to aood wethers.
