near Twenty-fourth and t O streets at 7
o'clock last night
In some manner ha failed to grasp the
handles of the car. His head struck the
pavement heavily and he was rendered un
conscious for quite a length ef time. Ha
waa carried Into Dr. W. 3. MoCrann'a
office, from where, after an hour or two,
he waa taken to hla home. There he was
found to be so badly Injured that he was
confined ta his room and no ona waa
allowed to apeak to htm. .The doctor pro
nounced It a slight concussion of the brain,
and If nothing more serious develops It Is
thought he will be fully recovered within
a very few days.
Mra. Horwlch Harmed.
Mrs. Moses Horwlch was seriously burned
In a gasoline stove accident Friday after
noon. She waa Ironing and using tha stove,
which leaked some gasoline and took fire.
From this her clothing Ignited and her
skirts were Immediately biasing. She partly
smothered the fire with her hands and tore
part of the clothing away. In the meantime
her arms below the elbow were severely
burned. Her cries for help attracted Joseph
Rlesdorf, who came to her aid and anon
had the flames extinguished. The fire
department was called and prevented any
damage to tha house, which waa also on
fire. Tha woman Is so years old and showed
corslderable presence of mind, for she
wrapped her shouldera In a rug to put out
tha fire.

Tha funeral of Mrs, Anna Kayser will ba
held at 1.J0 p. m. today at tha family resi
dence at Bellevua. Mra. Kaysar had been
a resident of Bellevua for forty-five years
and had lived on tha same spot during all
that time. Tha aervlce will be held ax tha
Ftetrbyterlan church at Bellevua and Rev.
