It was a fast game, notable In two particulars Denver did not have a man left on bases, and Omaha did not get a man to second base until the eighth, and another In the ninth. Orrldon and Oondlng did some grand field ing, the former taking In a fly while sprint ing toward the outfield, and the catcher being death on. foul. Singles by Lloyd, Cranston and Dolan gave one run in tne first and Corrldon's error let In another. I3eall's hard hit and his fast base running gave him a. home run in the flecond. Lindsay's three-base hit and a double renal he engineered with , Beat! gave the run In . the fourth. After that Denver did not tret a man to first. The Omaha men made two hits in the second inning without setting a man past first, and in no other inning made mo. than one ; hit. Catches ry Beall and Oats'dy abut off what looked tike home runs for C'orrldon, Thompson and Kane. For th first tint in four years th base ball team of th Field club met defeat at th hands of their old rivals, th Diets team, Saturday afternoon on the Field club grounds. The gam was by far the best played and most Interesting game seen on th club grounds;, this year, and to the fans who hav watched these teams play bait for years, It brought back memories of th many hotly waged contests of years gone by, ' in whlcfV these teams wer the keenest of rivals. The Diets team won by 'the score of C to 1, but the score does not indicate the real closeness of the contest Not a score was made by either team until the fifth inning, nor was there an error on either side up to that stansa. For the Diets team, Eisenhart pitched a good gam. He was slightly inclined to wlldneea, but hold himself well In hand In the pinches and allowed but six hits. MoLean was at short for the Diets in his old time .form, and a glanc at th box soore will show that h was In th game all th time.
