Omaht lost tha third tralght game to
Wichita by a core of 4 to 2 yesterday aft
ernoon. The Iissles Jumped Into the lead
In the second Inning by making two runs
off two passes by Rhodea and a aingle by
Shaw, and stayed there all the way.
Omaha had a chance or two to win out,
but, aa In a number of recent Karnes, tha
regular sluggers were not able to hit the
ball when a hit waa absolutely necessary
' t win a game.
Omaha one chance that looked excep
tionally good waa in the eighth, when three
were on and not a aingle Rourke waa out.
Schlpke hit Into a triple play and It waa
all off. It was a fast triple at that. Welch
got oh first by a single and went to second
when Hollenbeck waa walked. Jimmy Kane
also drew transportation. Then Captain
Skipper hit one to Westerill, who came In
cloae to tha plate, grabbed It up and
alammed It to Shaw, who tagged Welch,
(thaw winged the ball on to labell and
caught kipper. Then the old bald-headed
boy slapped the sphere back to Shaw and
caught ' Holly, who was coming In from
second at a fast clip. This irritated tha
Kourkes to a great extent, as tha rooters
In the grandstand were ready to do any-
' tiring when the three men were on to get
a score. Silence reigned supremo after the
last work by tha visitors.
Omaha. Fielding- Poor.
Rhodes was In the box for fa and let tha
Irslea down with five hits, Ha had poor
1 support back of him. In the second lie
'' passed Isbell and Westerstl and then, after
v Koerner sacrificed, Shaw singled and
, brought tha two men on bases In home.
. Tha next score made by the Izxlea waa
;! counted In the fifth. Belden started this
i1' session by rapping a three-bagger Into
;k right field. Claire hit a grounder to Kane,
who threw to the plate to head off Belden,
1 , but after Cad man had put the ball onto
kle he dropped It and the run waa scored.
The last run made by the visitors was
i made on two errors. In the etgnth Claire
went to aecond when Holly dropped a fly.
Ha hit the pike for home whan Hughes hit
!. one to Swampy Thompson at second anJ It
,i was nicely booted,
Omaha made Ita first score In the fourth.
i Jvane singled and went to third when
! flchlpke hit a two-bagger. Cadman went
' out, Claire to Isbell, and Kane scored on
Thompson's sacrifice fly. The other score
made in the next inning. After King
'went out to Mlddleton. Corrldon singled.
Welch hit a safe on and put Red on third.
.Holly hit ft hot grounder to Clair and
Corrldon scored on the play
The last game of lh aerie will be played
with Wichita Wednesday. Then Denver
.come for four gamea. The score
OMAHA.
