lost to Omalia Hunday afternoon by a
icurc of 4 to 1. Cooloy's men siemed to
be unable to get their heads to working at
critical times.
Fugate, who wai In the box for the
visitors, pitched a good game but received
little winning help from hi tcammutes.

placed a man on third who scored on the

Large Entry List Expected for State
Meet to Be Held at Field
Club.
.It Is expected that the Omaha Field
club will enter between forty and fifty
golfers in the state tournament which will
be held on the club's links June 2t and 30
and July 1 and 2. The country club also
expects to send that many Into the game
while the entries from the Happy Hollow
club will total about thirty. Miller park
will send five or six players and the
South Omaha Country club probably will
enter ten. This will be the first year for
the Council Bluffs Rowing association to
enter the tourney and It Is believed that
organisation will send over a good repre
sentation. With delegations from the
other clubs that belong to the association
the total number of entries will amount
to at leaat Li.
The course at the Field club Is In excel
lent shape. The putting greens ar In
belter condition than they have sver been
and some fast play will bet seen during
the meet,

The DoiMtison Athletic- club won Its first

"Dusty" Rhodes, who was sold to St.
Louis by Omaha two years ago and has
been purchased from Chattanooga by Pa
Rourke, arrived last night. He will be in
the game today. "Dusty" has been work
lng hard in the south and Is In good condi

McCafferty, who was signed the first of
the Beason by Pa and who has not been
going good, has been released. Where he
will play In the future Is not known, but

two cames from Indianapolis today 3 to 1,
and 4 to 0. In the first game Laroy kept
the hits well scattered. In the second game
Ryan allowed only three scattered hits,
while St. Taul bunched theirs on Hard
grove. Manager Carr of Indianapolis
sprained his ankle, and was carried from
the field. He will bo out of the game for
several days. Jlmmle Murray of the locals
was hit on the head by a pitched ball In
the second game, and had to be carried ott
the field. His Injury is not serious.

WASHINGTON, June 18. The interna
tional small bore rifle match shoot last
week was won by the United States rifle
men, competing with teams in Great
Britain and Australia, the score of which
was announced here today, The United
States team scored 34,649 points, the British
team 24,439 and the Australian team 2?,&M
points. The high score was 494 out of a
possible 00, made by two members of the
American team, Sergeant James H. Keogh
of Company A, Sixth Masachiicetta In
fantry, Wakefield, Mass., and W. C. An
drews of the Cuyahoga Rifle club of Cleve
land, O. Tho third high man was Theodore
Carlson of the Massachusetts Rlfio associa
tion, who scored 408.

gram.) In a fast and snappy game of bail
between the Kills and Endlcott teams at
Ellis today, the former won by the score
