Gentlemen:- , f
Having Juat returned from California on a tour of investigation
of your proposition and the euoalyptua timber industry generally, I want
to thank you most heartily for my very enjoyable trip and to say to you
that you did not describe this industry half strong enough, Tou were
too conservative, Every statement you made to me I found on investi
gation, to be true, but you told me less than the truth, not more. Es
timates of the growth of the eucalyptus and of the value of the timber (
Bade by you were far below the aotual figures.
Ifound your lands to be particularly adapted to the success
ful growth of the eucalyptus trees. I never saw finer soil and I believf
for any purpoae they are easily worth $00.00 per acre in the raw state,
I am more than pleased with my purchase of 100 aores of your
lands and shall be very glad to recommend your proposition to my friends
and to all others who may inquire of me in regard to it.
