One big slugfest nan dished up at
Vinton park Saturday In which the
Rourkes did most of the plugging. The
Omaha team piled up a score of 20 to 8
against the St. Joseph bunch. Almost
every inn of the Rourke team fattened
hla hatting average on the Holland
pitcher u;id when the Inst inning was

hit were made off Watson and

that won the game.

a base on balls and Kane grabbed a single,
which scored Fox. Mr. Corrldon looked
over a v juple of Mr. Baker's best and hits

today' game to Wichita by a score of 4
to 1, all the runs coming In the ninth In
ning. Up to the ninth it was a pretty
pitchers' battle between, Glest and Altchl
son. Giest was the steadier of the two;
but the left-handed Kansan was strong
with men on bases and received good sup
port. Three errors and three hits, one a
double by Isbell. gave Wichita four runs
in the final inning. The Lincoln made a
bid to tie the ecore, but were unable to
rend but one man across the plate, the
run resulting from three singles. Score:

game of the Nebraska State league sea
son from Kearney, after a brilliant fight
The game was formlly opened by . Mayor
Henry Schuff. who pitched the first ball
Sheriff Dunkel doing the receiving. Grand
Island opened hard on Judson. With two
men on bases, one by a safe hit, Graham
brother of George Graham of the Omaha
team, lined out a three-base hit and was
brought In by Manager Seltzer. The latter
was presented with a fine bat, finely
decorated with burnt ornamentations and
having the Araphoe colors, red and orange,
BeltEer's home Is In that city and a dele
gation of' his friends came from Araphoe
in autos'to pay their compliments to him.
Kearney made it close In the fifth by two
singles and two -walks, but Paul steady
