FORTY DAYS OUT OF BOSTON
AND DYING FOR BAKED BEANS
New Eilaa4f Ratarala from Pa
ri Me Art Plata .for tkat - ,
Goad Old Disk,
About fifty New England tourists, thirty
New Yorkers 'and Pennsylvanlana. passed
through Omaha Wednesday afternoon and
had two things to rompiln of. Tha first
and most imixu-taiit was that they had not
any real Boston baked beans since Feb
ruary 15, tha day tha party left the east for
a trip to tha Paclflo coast. - Tha second
bad feature of - the trip waa tha hot
weather encountered In this city, together
with tha high winds.
;T Hkst dying o gat home aratn so
that I can have some beans," said Mrs.
V. K. Haywood of Brockton, Mats. "1
a
haven't had any real Boston baked beans
since I left, home and I'm glad that I won't
haVe to : go without them much longer.
They, serve beans on the train, but they
are of the canned variety and none of us
will eat them.. Tha people out west don't
know how to cook beans, I am satisfied
of that, and they don't know what a relish
they are missing.
There was only one place on tha 'trip
where the beans were passably good and
that was at Pasadena, but I waa bo busy
that I didn't get ft chance to eat any of
them. All of us will be glad to get back
home to our picturesque New England
and Boston baked beans."
Tha entire party ' consisted of about
eighty persons,' fifty of whom were from
New England states and the other were
from New.. York and Pennsylvania. F. A.
Stock well, one of the directors of tha tour,
said that with tha exception of little
sprinkle in Ban Francisco, tha 'party has
not seen any rain since it left Boston for
the. west.
Manager and Mrs. C. II. Oreenleaf of
the Hotel Touralne, Boston, Were among
those who were making tha trip.

"Vc received this week a shipment of Ostrich Plumes, otli
French Curl and Willow, which for beauty' in texture, richness
and heaviness of quality we never saw equaled.'
We consider ourselves very fortunate, because high grade Plumes are
getting scarce on account of the unprecedented demand for these goods.
Willow and Ostrich Plumbs have never been so popular as this season.
Almost everyone is wearing them, and why not? There Is nothing half bo
dressy, besides they are a good investment It bought at reasonable prices,
and good Plumes last for many years.
If you intend purchasing this season, It will be to your advantage to
bny now, as prices Vre certain to advance. If you are not prepared to
purchase now, come anyway, select your Plumes, and we will put them
away fonyou. ' '

The New Improved 1910
DETROIT IDEAL Gas Stoves
310.00 to sso.po - .
' , , We sell it on small monthly payments or
a cut price for cash.
The new Improved Detroit Ideal marks a
new era in gaa stove construction and fin
ish. It completely breaks away from the
old method of cheap, unfinished and un
attractive sheet-iron, camp-stove-llke cook- 1
Ing apparatus that compared , favorably
with the cheap $25.00 sheet-Iron ranges,
and goes into a class beside the high grado
and attractive steel range. The reason
these cheap, unattractive sheet-iron, gas
stoves have been sold Is because up to with
In two or three years ago the gas stove has
been considered only a temporary cooking
apparatus to be used only In hot weather.
Today It takes Its place beside the steel
range in importance as a cooking appara
tus. In five years the $85.00 to $50.00
gas stove will be the stove same as the
$40.00 to $50.00 steel range is the popular
cooking, apparatus .today. The cheap un
sightly sheet-iron' gas stove of today will
be viewed the same as the cheap $25.00
Sheet-Iron range is today. The same class
of women who buy high grade steel ranges is the class who buy high, grade
gas stoves, the new Improved Detroit Ideal gas 6tove, now. . One-third of the
gas stoves we sell this spring range in price from $35.00 to $50.00. WheiiA
women buy them this is what they say: "I do my cooking on my gas stova
half the year. I want my kitchen aa attractive as any 'other room but don't
see how 1 can have It so with one of these cheap-looking unfinished sheet
Iron gas stoves they are selling around town. I want a gas stove that looks
like something." The Detroit Ideal Is Just what they were looking for. Look
at the burners, the finish, the general construction of a Detroit Ideal and
then at any other gaa stove and see what a cheap unsightly affair the other
is. No intelligent woman will look at a Detroit Ideal and then go and buy
some other. Just as the Detroit Ideal Is so far superior to others In construc
tion and finish, J list so is it far superior to the others In economy of gas,
baking and working qualities. .
Remember that we sell the Queen Steel Range, the 'range that has made
the big reputation. The Cold 8torage Refrigerators that received highest
awards at the St Louis Exposition. Coal Oil Cook Stoves. Gasoline Stoves.
