March ll.-The stock mar ket reflected the further technical course of the speculation today without much re Itard to news factors. The shrewd sus picion that the most powerful speculative forces had sold heavily at tha high levels last week, had withdrawn their benevolent control of the market and wera not averse even to see price recede again, waa har bored In the minds of the professional ele ment, which helped on the decline. Tim bulk of the ssles was ascribed to sources outside of New York, mostly west ern speculative centers. Greater confi dence was professed about the Stock ex change In the prospect of settlement of labor troubles, hut the outside selling seemed to be prompted partly byN un easiness over the ultimate outcome of the wage controversies, which are so numerous In the railroad world. Yesterday's sharp break in prices In Itself Induced some further liquidation by timid holders and by those called on to put up additional margin. Sign of bear activity were plainly seen. Thee Included a re vival of report of J. P. Morgan' HI health and alleged anxiety over the phys ical condition of the king of England. The pressure to sell United States Steel was a sympathetic Influence, The publica tion of the pamphlet reDort of the cor poration disclose the favorable details of the year's operations, which furnished the avowed motives for the latest advance In the stock. The elaborate details of the report offered no striking addition to the main outline, as already known. The digestion of the facts of the steel report and the needs of the uncovered shorts contributed to the effective rally of thj latter part of the day. Much of that was lost before the closing, which was wesk. Bonds were weak. Total sales, par value, I2.ai6.000. United States bonds were un changed on call. Nebrnska-fed Mexican lambs reached 8:185, a dime hlaher than yesterday' top, and the Ollis Mexicans that brought SS 60 yesterday, went to 1.75. There is no precedent ror thene prices and even higher values are predicted after the first of April. Coloredo feeders Intend to have their feed-lots pretty well emptied by that time In order to avoid aiseesment. and the arger operators In this state have been marketing freely during Ihs past two weeks. As compared with yesterday's prlcrs, today' lamb sale were about lOJ lftc higher, with demand active and broad at the advance. Supply waa fully normal. There were only a few mixed lots or common shorn stock Included in esrly re ceipts, but even these sold to very good advantage; In fact, cheap stuff has been Boosted to a relatively higher level than quality In an effort to lessen cost of product. Good grades of sheep moved freely, as usual, but as prices have already advanced to almost prohibitive levels, killer are showing no desire to pay more money. Generally speaking, salesmen had no diffi culty in disposing of shep offerings at yesterday' figures. Thus far this week the supply of sheep and lambs has been fairly liberal with the PtilK or the run consisting or lambs, largely Mexicans. Demand for hlgh-dressers has been urgent at all times, however, and prices have advanced about a quarter over ast week's close. There has been little quotable change In sheep prices, some of the better grade selling probably a dime higher. ijuotatlon on sheep and lambs: Good to choice lambs, S9.60rr9.90; fair to good lambs, xy.UKrs.ou; good light yearlings. bOflS.o, good heavy yearlings, 88.00418.50; fslr year lings, S7.35fi8.00; good to choice wether, S7.5O4J8.00; fair to good wethers.
