governmen't suit to divorce the Union Pa
clflo and Southern Pacific Interests.
Nelson 11. Loom Is, gvneral solicitor for
the Union Pacific, who has returned to
Omaha after near four months spent In
the east on the merger hearing, will go
back to New York tho latter part of April
to continue the fight.
"The hearing adjourned until April 28,"
said Mr. Loom Is. "We were given until
April 1, however, to complete testimony.
Itefore the case can bo left for rieelnlon
testimony will have to be tnken In rebuttal
and abstracts of evidence have yet to be
submitted. The case probably wlll not
reach this stage until late In June. Argu
ments In the case probably will be heard In
fct. Paul Instead of In New York."

'LETTER CARRIER FINDS DRAFT '

R. W. Freeman Recovers Stolen
Treasures and Tarns Them In

H. W. Freeman, a letter carrier of the
Farnam street route, rerovered a draft
of three figures from the letter box at
Nineteenth and Karnam streets that was
drawn In favor of C. E. Walker. Tho draft
Is from a Madison bank, payable to
Kountxe Bros., of New York.
The draft had evidently been filched from
the pocket of Walker with his wallet, but
only the draft was returned through tho
letter box route.
The same evening Le'tter Carrier Freeman
recovered a pocket book from the mall
box at Sixteenth and Fa mum streets, be
longing, evidently, to May Mtnor. A num
ber of receipts for money orders and a
registered letter receipt was In tho purse.
Both draft and purse are now lu the
possession of Postmaster Thomas and may
be obtained by the owners upon adequate
proof.
