bnyi-r did not act quite aa anxious for
material aa a result Still, most strlnas
of koih! killer moved with a fair decree
of fieeilom, and In spite of a rather llhrnl
run. the big bulk of arlj- arrival changed
hands in good arason. Iesirahle kinds of
hep met with the more active demand,
and If there wa any change In prices, it
wa In the direction of lronger figures.
Yearlings were good enough to realise 17.7ft.
wether sold at Jii 60 and ewe commanded
$6.10. The latter price is the highest paid
at thl point since May of last year, when
the outside price for full loads was ti.4tl.
The market was by no means over
burdened with lamb today, but much of
the urgency of yesterday' trade was lack
ing and buyers iffmrd to think that they
were entitled to greater or less concession.
No materiB.1 change In value resulted,
however,- most strings selling on a steady
bnsln. Soma fed western sold at Ivtiii.

HOGS Selected droves sold on the open
ing market at prices that were fully steady
with yesterday's best time, but the volume
of demand was small and the amount of
business done on this basis limited. The
estimated run was of liberal proportions,
and aa the morning advanced, it' became
evident that actual lecelpt would be fully
as great as the estimate, so that buyers
were naturally rather tardy in filling their
larger orders. From steady at the opening,
prices gradually weakened to a' flat, nickel
lower, light-weight hogs Buffering mure
than the finished kinds.
Conditions continued to grow more bear
ish during later hours. Messages from the
east Indicated a dull tradu at sharply lower
figures and the situation at this point wax
little different. It was almost Impossible
to obtain any kind of a bid on many ship
ments that came in on late trains, and such
droves a did sell, were generally pur
chased at prices about a dime lowr, than
yesterday.
A considerable portion of supplies sold
from $8.40 to $S.55 and on up to $8.70. The
latter price is as high a was ever paid
at this point for full loads of hogs. The
bulk yesterday, it will be ramrmbertd, sold
at t8.4.no.ti6 ana top reached $8.60.
