A holiday event which Is anticipated by
the older and the younger pets alike will
be the concert and dancing party January
1 riven bv the "Michigan alumni In honor
of the Glee club of the University of Michi
gan. The concert 'Will be given at the
Lj rle theater and will be followed by
the dancing party at the Rome hotel at
about 1$ o'clock. The Invitations for the
dancing party will be Issued this week.
The Michigan men arrive Saturday morn
ing from Minneapolis In a private car and
Ihey will remain over In Omaha until Mon
day morning, and there will be much done
for them 1n a social way. They will be
the ueats of Mr. John R. Webster at
luncheon at the Omaha club on their ar
rival, where they will meet representative
citizen of Omaha. A reception will follow
at Mr. Webster's home In tho afternoon
from 3 to S o'clock, when about fifty young
women will be Invited to meet the men.
Mr. Webster will entertain the club at
dinner preceding the concert Saturday
evening. The club la taking a trip that
Mill include 4,200 miles In all and Is nlwavs
handsomely received wherever It goes. In
the party Is a young Japanese prince who
plava the mandolin. Prince Kanaye Kuglta,
according to eastern critics, has consider
able ability. He Is the assistant to Dean
Cooley of the engineering . department at
the University of Michigan and is an addi
tion to the Musical club, aa he is an expert
mandolin plaver, and has Invented a
mandolin mut which is an improvement
en the tone of the Instrument.
The Michigan colors, "maizo and blue,';
will be used in the ball room, and at the
concert In the evening at the Lyric theater
the stage will be decorated with Michigan
pennants, and it Is understood that dif
ferent colleges will decorate boxes with
their own colors. '. Yale has taken two
boxes, Cornell two and Harvard two. The
two Omaha men who have been member.
of these clubs and toured with them on
former trips are Stanley Rosewater and
Jack Webater. Tho bovs 1U make the
Omaha club their headquarters during
their stay In Omaha.
The University of Michigan Alumni as
sociation of the Missouri valley Includes

Omaha. Mr. Caster E. Yost la president,
Mr. John R. Webster first vice president.
