NEW YORK STOCKS ASDBOSDS Apprehension Over Standard Oil De ciiion'Kcarlj Disappears. AMEfilCAlfS HIGHEE U LONDON Local Market Ala Rises ea Favorable Heporta Affeetlna; Indaalrlal aad Railroad rompaales Bonds Are strong. NEW YORK, Nov. 26 The opportunity for contemplation affofcled by the Thanks giving holiday seemed to have resulted In an a. most entire disappearance of appre hension over the Standard Oil decision, which In. a been an unsettling Influence In the stock market througli-iut the present week. Prices of Americans had been lilted smartly In tho London market In the In terval and New York accepted the alteicd appi alsemeint at the outset and added something to the gains In the course of the day's tranfnctlons. The constant gatherings of influential copper men In company with the bankers ctedlted with the authorship of the project, foster the belief Inithe cmtlnuid effortn to work out the combination of the lines followed by the financial minds In the formation of the United States corporatl n. Renewed weakness In New York Ct ntral made one Interruption in the advance. Pennsylvania showed some sympathy us being similarly situated In the prospect of addition to share capital. Importance is attached to this kind of manifestation, owing to the large new capital require ment! that are te be met shortly. Tho large stock and bond Issue already an nounced have provision for payment almost all deferred until the turn of the year. The estimates of the week's currency movement show a decided reflux of funds from the Interior to New Y'ork, with the waning of the crop movement, which is one of the first signs of relaxation of the money market. The demands of the sub treasury and the uhrpments of gold to South America have to be reckoned wlih In computing the net effect on bank re serves, which promises for that reason to be small. The strong exhibit made by the Bank nf England was a reassuring factor In the market, although the reten tion of the official discount rate Is read as an expression of continued distrust f the political outlook us shaped by the budget controversy. The sudden rise In the Chicago, Rock Island Pacific railroad bonds secured by St. Louis and flan Francisco stock as collateral gave corroboration to the rumors of a coming dissociation of these prop erties. The price of ' all securities con cerned rose on this prospect. Bonds were strong. 'Atal sales, par value. $3,C92,O00. United States 4s registered declined V per cent on call. In other words, there were only about seventy cars of cat tle oh the market, which was hardly enough to make a good test of values. Good fat steers, both rangers and corn feds, were In very fair demand and sold very freely at prices that were strong to 100 higher. Common and trashy grades were a little slow, the same as they have been every day of late. Cows and heifers moved off quite freely at about steady prices with Wednesday, the demand being good at current prices. The offerings for the most part chunged hands in fair season In the morning. There were Quite a good many feeders In the hands of speculators carried over the holiday, but every one seemed to be expecting a pretty fair country demand owing to the sharp break this week in prices. For that reason ths few fresh loads In the yards commanded about the sains prices as were paid on Wednesday. Although receipts were lib eral the demand was so good that offerings changed hands with a fair amount of rap idity at prices that were a good ec higher, buyers in fact claimed that taking quality into consideration it was more than 6o higher. A large proportion of ths hogs sold at 3.'ti 06. with the best heavy hogs up as high as 36 10. Light and light mixed hogs sold from 38.00 down, depending upon the weight and quality. Among the oiferings were quite a number of high mixed loads running from heavy hogs down to very light pigs Hogs of this description, ahlls selling very high as compared with eastern markets, nevertheless tend to bring down the average. Today's advance carries the market to the highest point touched since September. Representative sales: No. AT. Sh Pr. Ns. Of this number about one-half was from the range aiul the other half from the feed lota. To put It another way, about one-half of the ar rivals consisted nf killers and the re mainder of feeders. Hackers appeared to be quite anxious for fresh supplies of killers and anything that looked at alt good met with a very ready sale, sheep commanding steady to strong prices and lambs being strong to ltlc higher. On the other hand shippers should not forget that half-fat or warmed-up sheep and lambs are both very slow sellers, packers having very little use for them and only taking them when It Is Impossible to get anything else. This mentis that they are the last to sell and at prices that are none too good. Oood lambs, though not cholc'3, sold as high as 17.60, which Is as much as has been paid for some little time back. Klght good heavy yearlings sold up as high as 35.90. Feeders were a 'ittle late in arriving at the yards, but when they did show up they generally met with a satisfactory reception. The market was safely steady, which Is saying a good deal, as prevailing prices have been very good every day. tjuotatlona on fat sheep and lambs'.
