locomotives of the heaviest type have been
ordered for the freight service, 2,000 forty
ton box cars have been provided, 200 steel
ballast cars and ten new passenger
coaches ordered. Forty passenger cars and
!,0i)0 freight cars have been ordered to the
lhops for repi.lrs at certified times In the

The Burlington route has awarded a
contract for the extension o' the Wind
river branch of its main line to Billings,
tfont., in the northern part of Wyoming.
The branch will be continued to a connec
tion with the Chicago & Northwestern and
the Colorado & Southern railways at Orin
Junction in the central part of Wyoming.
The completion of the Cody branch, there
fore, will give the Hill system a new line
from the northwest to the Gulf of Mexico,
which; V1" De much shorter than the prea
int route followed by going northeast from
Denver Into Nebraska and thence north
west to Billings.
Mrs. Storz Hurt
by Street Car
She and Her Niece Are Badly Braised
and Their Automobile
Demolished.
Mrs. Gottlieb Stork and her niece. Miss
Louise Khlpporelt, were seriously injured
Wednesday afternoon, when a street car
struck the automobile in which they were
riding.
Miss Shlpporeit was rendered uncon
scious and Mrs. Eton's face. was bleeding
when she was taken into her home.
The chauffeur in charge of the machine
was Just turning in toward the driveway
of the Stork residence at Thirty-senevth
and Farnam streets, when car 170, going
west on Farnam,' hit It almost broadside.
The auto was badly damaged, and Mrs.
Stori was bruised on the head and cut
by broken glass. Mr. Stors. was also in
the machine, but was not hurt.

Twenty-fourth street cut the street railway
company has laid the first part of the
tracks which will run up the hill from
Twenty-fourth and Cuming to connect with
the present atub at Twenty-fourth and
Cass. With this piece of track laid the
cross-town line to South Omaha from
Florence will be complete, so when through
'service Is established anyone desiring to
go to the Maglo City from the north part
of the city can travel direct without com
ing down town. It Is expected that the
tiack will be oomplete within sixty days
at tho present rate of progress.
