corresponding period In 1908,
period In 1!I07,
New York. Oct. 19 The salient fact dis
cernible in the stock market of today was
the decrease of speculative Interest The
tone of the diminished speculation today
was greatly unsettled, a was witnessed
by the unceasing and Irregular fluctua
tions of prices. London was a seller of
stocks In this market. There waa selling
on a large scale from sources nearer home
and which proved enlightening as to the
character of some of the preceding buying
which had been relied upon aJ4 coming
from well-informed and powerful ctiDital-
Ists whose leadership It might be assumed
was sure to follow.
In some of the profit-taking sales to
day. there was suspected a closmg out of
Individual speculative accounts running up
to tne hundred thousands share mark of
a purely professional kind. Jperatora on
that scale by board room traders created
a sentiment nf dlstniKt of some of the mo
tives and alleged Information on which the
previous accumulation had been based.
This feeling was emphasized by the ap
proach of the quarterly meeting of the
I'nited States Steel corporation and the
doubt of the kind of stock market response
which may be made to even the most fa
vorable outcome of that meeting, In view
of thn price altitude of the stock and the
jubilant assertions of coming events that
have accompanied It. A feature of the sit
uation that aroused much conjecture was
the strenRth of the foreign exchange, mar
ket, which made a further advance today
with the continued demand for remittance,
Special Interest attached to tho announce
ment of the placing of a block of St.
Louis San Francisco refunding bonds
with bankers In Germany. Participation
by foreigners In some of the bond Issues
which are In contemplation are much re
lied upon to take up the heavy indebted
ness of the New York money market
The points, of strength In the market
were sporadic, and they developed from
time to time In an eccentric manner that
made an explanation puzzling. Violent ad
vancea on small transaction In the ex
press stocks were' due to the advance In
the dividend rate on I'nited States express.
Rumors nerKlKted of a romtne combina
tion of copper Interests, with some effect
on copper securities. The southern group
nf railroads felt the Influence of the Haw
lev rt.ul in Missouri. Kar.sas & Texas.
and mysterious intimations of a possible
further scope for the plnn Involved In that
deal. The sustaining Influence of these
movements was only temporary and prices
ran ntt strain, closlna- at about the Vwest

Here is a letter you should certainly read.
It maybe uninteresting to you personally,
but may be, through you. It will be the
means of a dear friend securing relief after
many years of suffering: ...
PILOER. Neb., Oct. 11, 1909.
Austro-American Doctors:'
. Gentlemen My father (Mr. John Sess)
requested me to write you and tell you Just
how he waa feeling. He said he never sup
posed he would ever feel again like he
does.
He had many different doctors and they
gave him up aa Incurable, but he aaya he
certainly Is feeling like a new man again.
He receiver! the medicine O. K. and is
much obliged.
Sincerely your friend,
C. R. W. SESS.
P. 8. Address him always at West Poiut,
Neb.
The above Is the exact copy of a letter
voluntarily sent to the Austro-American
Doctors because of the great good they are
doing for Mr. Sess.
The Austro-American . Doctors never
charge for consultation or advice. They
ara headed by Dr. Theodora Milen, who la
chief of staff. Thirty years of active prac
tice and research In this country and In
foreign fields places him . in an enviable
place) among his profession. No better man
oould hold this position. His assistants are
all specialists who have devoted a life
time to their work.
This organisation has perfected what the
medical world terms the "New Method" of
treatment. They do not treat the effects
of an 111, but ascertain Ita cause and then
remove the cause. By this "New Method"
treatment one may be cured In a few
weeks of an 111 that has been "doctored"
for years without success. Hundreds of
Instances of that sort are on record. But
they don't cure every case they can't.
Some are so far gone aa to be beyond hope.
These they do not touch, but frankly tell
the patient so and refuse to accept the
case. This does not apply, however, to
cases which have been pronounced "Inour
able" by others. Most of these they cure
permanently In a few days or weeks.
The special ailments with which they are
remarkable successful are paralysis, rheu-'
matlBm. goitre, epilepsy, gall stones, dis
eases of the liver, kidneys, stomach, blood,
chronio diseases of men and women.'
Offices ar.d laboratories are maintained
on the fourth floor of the Ramge block, at
Fifteenth and Harney streets, opposite tho
Orpheura theater.

CA'i'l LE Receipts were Hardly as large

some time lately the cattle were late get

'Ine indlcatlona were that before the trad

show more or less of a decline as com

was little change In the market for cows
and heifers as supplies were by no means
excessive and the demand from all sources
very satisfactory. ' Medium and common
muff was in very liberal supply and ruled
aomewhat easier in spots, but the choice

marUot for veal calvea waa active and
strong and bulls, stugs. etc., sold In about
the name notches as vesterday
ln stockers and feeders the trend of
values was lower right from tne start
Outeide orders were not overly numerous,
while the attendance of country buyers
waa rather disappointing. Heavy feeuera,

tha a-ood Unlit and medium weight stuti

HOGS Receipts of hogs this morning
were moderate at this point." but were well
up to the estimates east and were pretty
liberal at southern points. With the trade
rather irregular and uncertain, the-market

considerably lower, ' but as local houses
seemed to want a few bogs, prices finally
