Faul, formerly mayor of Florence. At the same tlm Mrs. Paul's answer to th first petition and her cross bill which were filed Saturday and with drawn, were sent back to district ' court and their contents became known. These charges and Counter charges form the matter of one of the most sensational divorce suits on the records of the county. Mr. Paul's amended petition accused his wife of Infidelity, and two men are di rectly charged. Several other men are mentioned as having associated too much with Mrs. Paul, and among these are E. J. Bodwell, former county superintendent of schools, now at Norfolk, and E. H. Waller schools, now at Norfolk, and E. If. Walker of Florence. In offset Mrs. Paul makes a serious charge of criminal conduct against her husband In her answer. Mrs. Paul Is accused of writing letters to herself purporting to com from some one 'els and warning her that her hus band was misbehaving. Mrs. Paul, her husband says, threatened his Ufe, and one day sent a piece of crepe to his sister's house by the children with the request that a picture of plaintiff be placed on the crepe.
