In spite ot ihe lare receipt yesteida).
piacucaily eveiyiliing was sold betuie
the clone of tlie market, uliiiough aome of
it was not weighed up until this morning
As noted PHtciua, the market was any
where from steady lo liHilOc lower.
Fortunately tiie big run this morning
was accompanied with ati equally good de
mand on tin. part of both feeders and
packers, ho Hint the trade a a whole
we in very satisfactory condition. Pack
ers were especially free buyers of good
lamb, wlilcn changed hands at prices not
matei tally itiffi icnt from those that pre
vailed yesterday. The trade waa as active
aa could be expected, taking Into consid
eration the large amount of sorting re
quired with such large receipts.
The barn wus full of feeder buyer, but
the early trade was naturally a little slow,
owing to Hut fact that some trains ar
rived late and there was also a good deal
of nhaplng up to be done before the (tuff
could be placed on sale. The feeling
among buyers seemed to be weaker, thai
I, they seemed to feel that price were
high and that they were entitled to some
concession, ho that Ihe trade opened a
little slow.
Still t Iip demand was so good that the
offering kept changing hand, and while
there were still a good many unsold at
the time of writing this report, proiipect
were good for a very fair clearance at
prices not materially different from those
that prevailed yesterday.
