Woman Kills Self With Gas Mary Altman of Los Angeles is Found Wrapped in Blanket Dead in Her Room. Miss Mary Altman. who has been living In apartments at 1544 North Sixteenth street, was found dead in her room by residents of the apartment, about 9 a. m. Monduy. - , Lffith evidently had resulted from the inhalation of Illuminating gas, self nlmlnlntered. The body was found wrapped In a blanket, which enveloped it completely. Into which had been thrunt the end of a rubber tube connected with a kus Jet, from which gas was still flowing. Now at Hand Shows Large Local Receipt Omaha holds the same position In the grain world as at the last government re port. That for July is Just in, some days later than usual. Omaha is still second only to Chicago in corn receipts, being 500.000 buHhels ahead of St. Louis. Its re lative wheat position is fifth, as before. Kansas City made a big gain In this mar ket, Jumping Into first place. In total grain, however, Omaha, is a long way ahead of Kawvllle. Viana was suffering from a bullet wound in his right forearm and Lobue bore a fresh knife cut on his forehead. When taken to the police station the men professed to be unable to speak the English language and an interpreter was called. Through him they bald they had Just emerged from their door after din ner, when a man stepped up, shot one through the arm and knifed the other. The Btory sounded so fishy to the po lice that the men were locked up pending an investigation. A trail of blood led from the door of the small frame Hhack occupied by them, in company with several other Italians, nearly to the river. A pool of blood was also found near a cot in their room.
