Although the wheat market waa Inclined
to be weak almost all day, no decided
heavtnes waa manifested at any time and
at the close prices were almost where they
were when trading ended last Saturday.
The chief factor In the situation was the
Increased movement of wheat In tha north
west and talk of still larger arrivals for
some time to come. Toial arrivals today
at Uuluth and Minneapolis aggregated l.ti-b
cars, which was only a little short of the
record-breaking movement of the corres
ponding day a yeur ago. As a result of
these heavy receipts caxh premiums at the
northwestern markets showed a still fur
ther fading away. Other factors that con
tributed to the heavy undertone were the
increases In the visible supply in the ele
vator and the amount of breadstuff on
ocean passage, easy cables and the amount
of worlds shipments fur the week, the
total movement being considerably In ex
cess of that of a year ato. Rains durlnv
the last twenty-four hours In the winter
wheat territory, however, almost counter
balanced -the effect of these combined In
fluences. Some congestion waa manifested
In the September delivery and that tended
to ateady the dther months. Doling the
day Oeoember sold between y5o and 84tao.
The (September option clewed at Ui sain, at

The corn markat Was depressed by Im

8HEKF-Receipts of sheep were small
yeHtTday and again today, making the
total for the two aays very mucn smaller
than for the same period last week. Yes
terday's arrival were all cleaned up before
he close of the market and with another
small run this morning, sellers were In
position to ask and obtain a little more
money for everything desirable.
Packers all iseraen 10 De anxious for
both fat sheep and lambs, with the result
that the market opened early In the morn
ing and active, practically everything being
cleaned up before 10 o'clock. The prices
paid ranged anywhere from stesdy to
strong on the medium grades to 1'HfIEo
hlKlier on the more desirable Kinds of kill
ers, both sheep and lambs. Lambs sold
up as high as $7.10, ths best price paid in
a number of days.
There were comparatively few feeders
on sale, especially for a Tuesday. There
were a good many country buyera, besides
th buying orders In the hands of commls
ion men. In other words, there was a
very good demand, with the natural result
that the trade was active and practically
everything was disposed of as rapidly as
It could be sorted up and put in shape to
be shown. The prices paid showed about
the same strength as noted on killers, that
Is, the medium or Inferior kinds remained
