Curtis of Boston and sailed by hi son, Charles P. Curtis, Jr. The German challenger were hopelessly beaten. The Seehund dropped out of the raoe when It wa one-quarter over because It fouled a flag. The Wolf finished a close second, while the Joyette, winner ot yesterday' contest, waa third, 48 second behind the Wolf. The Hevella crossed In fourth place nearly two minute astern of th Joyette, and the Margarethe brought up In the rear. It was a slashing race, fought to th bitter end. The Ellen got away at the start and led once over the course and until the outer turn on the second leg was ' reached, when In the freshening breeae, th Wolf spurted and sailed first place. Then cam the final run back to the finish line and th batil was decided a quarter of a mile from the committee boat.
