The market on beef steer did not show
any very material change, price generally
looking about steady with yesterday. On
the other hand It must be remembered
that beef steers outside of the few of the
choicest cornfed are 80330a lower than last
week.
Buyers of cow and heifer did not seem
to be in need of fresh supplies and henoe
were not very active buyers ot the re
ceipts in sight. Thus the market was slow
to loo lower than yesterday or VKbYie lower
than last week. This decline, however,
was mora noticeable on the In-between
kinds, the choice cornfeds and the common
cuimera showing little decline.
The best weighty feeder were about
steady today and they have not shown
very much chang a compared with a
week ago. Oh the Other hand light feeder
were almost unsaleable today and they
are safely 26540c lower than last week.

320 ACRE FREE HOMESTEADS
The
Mondell Homestead Law, passed at the lat ies-
sion of Congress, makes provisions for .320 acre
homesteads) in certain localities, instead of the usual
1G0 acre tracts. The requirements of the law are
practically the same regarding residence, improve
ment and cultivation. These lands are going fast;
if you want a homestead close to the railroad, you
should act now.
Crops and Rain Fall. Visitors to the Omaha Oora Show
will remember the magnificent display of fArm
products from Weston County, Wyoming, grown on
exactly the same kind of soil that can now bo taken in
320 acre homesteads. The Mondell Act applies to
lands that receivo from 18 to 21 inches of rainfall an
nually and you only need to seo the crops grown by
the farmers already located there, to be convinced.
These homesteads can be taken along the Burling
ton's new line now building in Wyoming.
