MOtlS Todays hog market wss very
much to the liking of sellers, prices being
generally fcylOc higher than yesterday, this,
too. in the face of very liberal receipts.
The trsde was fairly active at the advance
noted and pretty mtieh everything changed
nanus In good seaeon In the morning. A
large proportion of all the boas sold
around $7 6rrV7.srt. with the best selling on
up aa high as 8'. 95.
The cloe of the market waa hardly so
good, some of the last salea showing more
or less, weakness. This was especially true
of the rutigli parking grades, the kind
that no one waa very anxious to buy
earlier In the session.

CAT'l La Receipts of cattle this morning
numbered 830 cars, making tne total 101
the three days this week e6,27 head, the
largest for any similar period for a long
lima back. Hucn a ran a increase in re
celpu today, with a lower tendency ot
outer points, could hardly fall to bring
about a break in prices at this point. The
result was praotlcally everything showed
more or less-decline. -
While the top corufeds brought as muon
money aa yesterday, the general market
on an kinds or peel came was tower, x-er-
haps the market, as a whole, might best
be described as weak to lOr&lbc lower. - in
other words, the lower grades ot beef
cattle are around 1526c lower than last
week, with the better grades generally 10ii
15o lower. '
Cows and heifers were in such, large sup
ply that buyers were In. a position to force
prices lower and the general run of cows
and heifers was lO&loO lower than yes
terday and IbtaJbo lower tnan last week
There was a very large supply of light
and trashy stockers and feeders tn the
yards, a good many shipments looking like
a oleap up. Prices on that kind of cattle
were also losioo lower tnan yesterday ana
26i336c lower than laat week. Some of the
beat feeders did not show so much decline,
but everything was sareiy lower.

supplies were
season at fully
steady prices on all classes of stock. One
bunch of feeder lambs broke all reoord
prices of the season on this class of stuff
at 56.45, with another string only a nickel
lower.
Today's run was only of moderate pro
portions and consisted largely of feeders.
There were only about forty loada in all.
and probably twenty-eight were feeding
sheep and lambs. A tew cars were some
what late In arriving.
Thin .stock moved from the opening In
tne same breesy style that has character
lied the feeder trade during the last two
weeks.' Buyers were almost as numerous
aa ever and the Inquiry waa anything but
listless. - Prices paid were Just about
steady; In fact, the fluctuation of values
In either direction was of so little conse
quence that It would be difficult to quote
the general market on any other basis.
Feeder yearlings sold early at 8525.
Comparatively scant supplies of fat mut
tons naturally waa responsible for a good,
firm tone In this branah of the trade. The
quality on an average was none too good
but the bulk of supplies waa turned ovei
to packers at unchanged figures. The best
handy weight killers here that Invited
more competition than other grades were
possiDiy a shade higher, but the big bulk
of the . offerings registered right around
In yesterday's notches. Fat yearlings were
weignea up at K.3 and ewea brought 34.20.
There were not enough fat lamba on Bale
to afford an adequate teat of the market
as a whole. Only one or two loads were In
cluded In the receipts and these com
manded good strong prices.
