ilvan, for supreme Judge, Harvey E. New
branch and F. L. Haller for regent for
the short term, were filed with the secre
tary of etate this morning.

E. A. Cudahy Is to be asked by the Com
mercial club to build a hotel on one or
other of the Douglas street properties he
has acquired within recent time.
At the laet meeting of the Commercial
club's executive committee It was voted
that Edgar Allen, chairman of the execu
tlve board, name a committee of three men
to wait upon Mr. Cudahy and urge him to
undertake the project.
ThlH action of the oommlttee was not
Clven out, but It has since become generally
known. Mr. Allen lias not yet named the
committee.
Mr. ( uclahy owns the Grossman corner
at Seventeenth street and the oorner one
bluck west, which he bought from Miss
llanacom.

the street railway company had but 760
tons f ooal, or. enough to run five days,
The street railway company has word that
coal may be in soon la time to save a shut

Regular Interurban car service from
Omaha to Ralston Is announced to begin
today. The first Interurban car to run
over the line clear through had a success
ful trial trip Suudsy.
The Ralaton-Papllllop line is to be pushed
from bow on and two orews of graders are
encamped south of Ralston. The line will
be three and one-half miles and will run
due aeutk. A large quantity of ties, pales
and same relic are on hand. Because of
the Urge amount of grading to be dons
it presebly will be several months before
the Has is finished, after which through
ssrvtoe will be maintained from Omaha to
the county seat of Sarpy county.
