Emmert of At lantic, a member of the State Hoard of Parole and one time state senator from Csss county, died at his home In Atlantic this morning at 4 o'clock. He was the democratic member of the board of parole and one of he most prominent democrats In the state. He was In the state senate during the Twenty-seventh. Twenty-eighth and Twenty-ninth sessions. His election to the Twenty-ninth session was contested by Hon. James E. Bruce of Cass county, and during the closing days of the session Bruce was seated and Emmert unseated. He was appointed to a position on the board of parole by Governor Cummins, when the hoard was first created, three years ago. Dr. Emmert has been In somewhat 111 health. He accompanied the State Board of Parole on Its trips to the penal Insti tutions after the session of the board In this city over a Week ago, but becnune of 111 health was forced to leave the board before finishing the tour. This morning his gasping for breath awoke Mrs. Em mert. Their son, who Is a physician, was called and also other physicians. He died n a few minutes, probably of apoplexy. The funeral will be held Sunday from the Presbyterian church In Atlantic. Ordered Bark to Work.
