Our Oreen's Prohibitionists were forced
to take the Keeley cur Sunday afternoon,
whether they liked It or not.
It waa gale flay at Vinton park and
Th new stands were filled. Keeley was
chosen to administer the done and he did
It In the latent fashion. He pitched mag
nificent ban all the way through and al
lowed but five hlU and passed but one.
While hit support looka bad on the dope
sheet, soma brilliant catchea and atopa
'were made.
Llncoln'a four runs were all the result
of errors . and bad ones at that In the
third Inning Prltqhett Uncled and In try
In to catch him leading off too far at
flrat, Kane let the ball get by him and
Trltchett circled the sacks. In the eighth
; Farthing hit a grans-cutter which scooted
between King's legs, and WakJron scored
' him with a triple. Pavldnon hit a long
' fly to Pendry and Waldron scored, in
' the ninth Inning Schlpke threw bad to
first on the first man up, and before the
,ball was found Mason, who had hit 'for
j Harris, waa on third. He scored on Prtt-
chett's long fly to Fisher.
Omaha started to score la the very first
, inning when, with two out, Welch was
passed. Welch Is now the head of the
batter of the Western leatae in the per
' centage column and all pitchers fear his
' new willow. He draws more passes than
' any man In the league. Caraon passed him
! to his sorrow yesterday, for Kane fol
lowed with a stzzler to right . on which
' Welch went to third and scored on Schlp
' ke's single. Welch might. have been nailed
' at the plate, but Prltchett preerred to play
'foi Schlpke and Slugger BUI beat the
'throw. Kane was - caught napping off
! third. . ',
Flaher Beat Oat Infield Hit.
Fisher pulled off - one of his famous
, stunts of beating out an infield hit In the
I third, and It resulted In a run. King drew
a pass, Welch flew out to Davidson, send
' Ing Fisher to third, and then the double
I steal waa worked by Fisher and King for
' a run and it was a beaut. King did not
start, to steal until Sullivan had thrown
the ball to Careon and then Fisher started
for home. An effort was made to catch
i Fisher at the plate, but he beat the bail
by a magnificent slide.
The fourth Inning was noted principally
for Slugger Bill knocking the ball over the
left field fence for a home run, but aa the
skipper is such a noted slugger this only
attracted passing notice.
The game was cinched In the fifth inning
by four runs. Fisher started the fun with
a double to left and scored from second on
King s safe bunt. A bad pair on the basea,
those two. Welch waa again passed and
Kane sacrificed them on for a base. Re
membering Schlpke'e home run in the
previous inning, Karsten passed him and
filled the sacks. Pendry'a sacrifice fly to
I)avldf0.i scorod King and Captain Franck
hit a double which scored Welch and
Schlpke.
Karsten started in bad form again in the
sixth, when, with one out and after Fisher
had singled, Karsten was stabled and
Farthing sent In. Farthing is a nice young
chap who pitched thla spring for the Ne-
, braska Wesleyan university team. He is
tall and angular and a southpaw. He went
Into the game at a critical stage, but de
livered the goods, aa all scoring stopped
forthwith. ,

Note of the Gvnt,
Ladles' day today, same teams.
Pendry made a fine stop of Waldron's
drive In the third, and held It to a
single.
Buck Franck was the real hitter so far
as timeliness goes. He drove out two two
baggers with men on bases.
Pendry made a beautiful run and catch
of Prltchett's long fly in the seventh in
ning and stopped what might have been
two runs.
Fisher tried to put Farthing in the air
by stealing second, while the lengthy
pitcher was holding the ball. He made It,
ma the big fellow had to pitch or balk.
Keeley waa not to be outdone by his
fielders on circus catches, so he made
one himself In the fifth inning when he
went In the air and stopped a . hard one
with one mlt.
Fisher and King are making a regular
practice of beating out short hits and It
puta the opposing team on edge every time
they come to bat. Fisher ta being rooog
nlied as the fastest man in the league.
Welch made a catch In the eighth, inning
the like of which Is seldom seen, Jude hit
the ball to right field and It looked as
though. It was soaring over the fence.
Welch went after It and although he. be
came tagled up with the fence braces, he
cabbaged the ball with his meat mlt and
held on.

DENVER, Colo.. June 4. Rain fell after
the first inning and caused a delay during
the fifth. The disappearance of Umpire
Wheeler caused the placing of two play
ers to umpire, and nearly prevented any
game at all. The umpires Interfered with
the work of each other and disagreed upon
calling the game In the rain. A long dis-
Rute between the Denver team owners and
ogrelver representing Pueblo, ended with
the calling in of a local umpire, who took
the face features from the contest, but
was wet through when he called the game
at the opening of the seventh Inning.

by C. H. 9. Nine.
The C. H. S. team surprised the Benson
Eagles by giving them their first defeat of
the season on their home grounds yester
day by the score of 10 to 5. The C H. 8.
team has been materially strengthened
by the addition of the Kennedy brothers,
Kocker, Klonck and Vincent. The game
was never in doubt on account of the fine
support given the C. H. 8 pitcher. The
feature of the game was the batting of
Sobotker, he getting five hits In five times
up, and of Klenck who got four hits In
five times up, two of them being two-baggers.
Kocker pitched a fine game for the
C. H. 8. and showed good form. The field
ing of Klenck and Loup and a shoestring
catch by Jennings were the features. The
Eagle pitcher was replaced In the sixth,
but that didn't stop the C. H. S. as they
soored three more in the ninth. Score:
