OMAHA. April 22, lr
There 'waa no session on the Omaha op
lion market today, It being Arbor day.
Tha caah market wis open and the usual
dally receipts were disposed of.
Chicago and other outside msrkets held
sessions and advices showed wheat value
to he greatly depressed In anticipation of
Increasing receipt. The wheat market In
general waa raided by the bear opposition
with decided result, aa the market wa
caught with no buying order and heavy
nun selling netted a decline or sc.
Newa from outside corn markets waa
mora reassuring than wheat, showing
valuea -only slightly lower In face of th
heavy break In wheat. The wet weather
la holding bark corn shipments and la
the sustaining features for higher values.
Cash wheat on the Omaha market was
teady at a ehade off. with offerings very
light. Buyers are still offering good prices
for milling wheat,
Corn was more active, with moderate re
ceipt. Valuea slumped on larger offerings.
The situation la a weather problem.
Primary wheat rece'pta were 2?4.ono bush
el and shipments war 2M.0M0 bushels,
agalnaf receipt last year Of 244.000 bushels
and shipments of 400,000 bushels.
Corn receipts were W.oOO bushels and
shipments were 244,fkl0 bushels, against re
ceipt last year of 461.000 bushels and ship
ments of 2R1.0UO bushels.

NEW YORK. April 8. Th speculative
mw n the stock market today took on
more cheerful hue. although In somewhat
subdued fashion. Stocks which were sold
testerday were purchased today and the
upward movement became more uniform
and"ronstfttent than the halting and Irregu
lar decline of yesterday. The subdued tone
of the speculation may be Justly attribu

The altuatlon I distinctly altrred. never

seeking employment and experiencing dlffl

Issues of hew securities are still In pros

Pacific convertible bond Is given credit
for soms of the absorption of available
credits which I Influencing the call money
market. With lesa urgency on the part
at the lenders In placing funds, there Is
not being Injected Into the speculation so
much artificial stimulant. Bankers are
disposed to look more to conserving funds
for future corporation losns. leaders of
finance counsel some caution about extend
ing expansion of values to a point where
a plnoh for credits might cause a collapse
that might work hsrm to the extension of
projects of financing still to be concluded.
The intention to refund high Interest bear
ing bonds of the Chicago. Burlington &
Qulnry waa announced today. The Im
proved financial position of many railroad
companies aa i result of loana already
placed makea a strong sustaining Influence

Another substantial support to confidence
Is found In the subsidence of annrehension
over the grain crop position. This Is partly
due to the deflation of the speculative cle
ment In the price of wheat, which waa
continued today. Cheering advlcea of tho
condition of the growing winter wheat crop
and of th spring wheat aeedlng were added
to this avmntnm. The Imnresslnn made by
extravagant claims of depleted stocks of
grain In th Interest of speculation Is thus
diminished. The reviving demand for pig
Iron la considered of the most Importance
as a barometer of basic conditions, and re
norta were in circulation today In the finan.
clal district that the earnings of the United

CATTLE There was a very moderate
run of cattle today, tl.e heavy decline in
beof steers eviilontly having the effect of
curtailing shipments. At the same time the
quality was not as good as on most days

to stock cattle, there helng very few
rattle hesvy enough to reslly be classed as
feeders. While the market lias open steaoy
