CATTLE There was another very liberal
run of cattle, 133 car being reported In.
This makes the total for the four days
over 19.CO0 head, being the largest run for
any similar trf-rkxi since the second week
in March, and with that exception, the
largest ainoe January. With so many cat
tle in sight and with markets east breaking
down rapidly, the trade here has been very
slow and dull during the last two days,
with prices decidedly lower, Thl morn
ing, with receipts liberal for a Thursday
and wllh all-other markets -sending out re
ports none to encoursging. the trade was
extremely alow and dull, the Mint a yes
terday, and It wa well along In the latter
half of the forenoon before enough business
had been transacted to really establish
prices on killing enttle.
Feeders and stock cattle were the first
to sell this morning and they changed
hands early at prices thst were fully steady
with yesterday and as high as at any time
this season. The fact Is. that so few feed
era have ben received thla week that
there has not been enough to supply the
very moderate demand existing. Thus It has
happened that everything of that descrip
tion has met with very ready sals all week
at good, steady or strong prices.
It was well along toward midday be
fore enough business has been done In the
way of elllng beef steers to call It a mar
ket, and It was after noon before a clear
ance wa effected. Prices were around 10
15c lower again today, making the decline
for the week lSitT!5c at !eat.
Cow and heifers were also late In sell
ing, although they were a little more active
than beef steers. As a rule they sold woak
to a dime lower, making tha market 102i)c
lower than last week.
