Thus tha receipts for tha three days foot up over 15,700 head, as against 10,397 for the earn days last week and 11.000 head for the aame period a year ago. The bulk of the cattle again consisted almost entirely of killers, very few feeders being here today, or, for that matter, on any other day ao far this week. Such liberal recelpta were In themselves a sufficient bear Influence to create a weak market had there been nothing else to affect prices. As it waa other selling point were reporting liberal receipts, poor demand and decidedly lower markets. It la hardly necessary to add. In view of what has been said regarding general conditions, that the market here on killing cattla was alow and lower right from tho outset. In fact It waa well along toward midday before very much business had been transacted. Stackers and feeders were the flrat cat tle to sell and as there were very few here and as speculatora have been able to clean up everything ln eight on previous days this week, they were sll eager for fresh supplies. Thus It happened that the fow Blockers and feeders tn sight met with very ready sale at fully stesdy prices. When the trade on beef steers finally opened it wss on a basis of 10c lower than yesterday. While the cattle ware pretty well cleaned up before the close. It took until midday or after to errect a clearance. Cowa and heifers were also lower, sell ing In many caaes as much aa 10c under yesterday's prices. Some certain kinds that buyers Just happened to want did not ahow quite that much loss and In quite a good many Instances salesmen quoted the cow market aa only slow to 10c lower. Twenty-six cars were consigned to an eaatern feeding point, so that the num ber of cars actually on sale waa cut down almost half. Seven cars, however, were carried over from yesterday, bringing the sum total of offerings up to thlrty-thrr cars. Most of the srrlvala consisted of lambs, with a fair percentage of ewaa and wethera. A couple cara of clipped lambs wera carried over from yesterday and three cars of clipped wethers wera Included among fresh receipts. The quality of the supplies waa pretty good on an average and, while salesmen did not anticipate higher value, most ot them looked for a steady market Priors, however, wera not able to hold up under tho recelpta and buyers started out bidding from 10O to llo lower. Bales men held off for a time and a sluggish market resulted. When sellers and buyers finally got together on a trading baala, the general market appeared to be 10c, and In aome casea loc, lower than yesterday. Even at the decline, buying talent did not ap pear to ba especially anxloua for supplies and some salesmen were complaining that they had not yet had an Inquiry. On the Opening market a bunch nt pretty decent western ewes moved at 15.75, choice Mexican lambs that would have brought 18.00 yesterday sold for 17.90, and a load ot prima Mexlcsn wethers wera good enough to make 16.40.
