Hie. result pf which was that the. union, by an unanimous vote, ' extended a hearty approval of the enterprise and prom ised Its cu-oprratlon. The lettor from the Omaha Typographical union, asking; the Ministerial union to give Its endorsement tp the "union", label was discussed. U was finally decided that the request was not within the scope of action of Hie Ministerial union and that the union had no power to take special cognizance of It. 'The Ministerial union did desire to go D!i record as being the friend of labor and all efforts for the betterment of the conditions of laboring men, but Its functions were not such as to permit the union to mako the endorsement requested. The co-operation of the Ministerial union was promised In the missionary meetings to be held In Omaha March 25 and 26. Dr. Maynnrd of the I'nlvrrslty of Omaha In his brief address upon that institution said . 1)1 r'rt:. "While the Omaha university Is a con ception, It Is now very near a realization. It la an institution that will he far-reaching in Its influence. It cannot be created In a day, nor would we have It s It Is lo be absolutely without ecclesiastical con liol. It Is to be a university In the broad est sense of the word, with Its equipment of colleges of the liberal art and every fea turo of the most advanced Ideas of the highest types of libera; education. Early Decision in Connor Case sa i J Ruling by Judge Leslie in Suit Over Will Looked For in a Few Days. A decision on the Connor will case may be looked for earlier than was expected. County Judge Leslie intimated Monday morning that he would be ready to decide the case toward the end rX the week. The attorneys Interested on either side believe th verdict will be In accord with their respective desires, but except for them no person who followed the case will hazard an opinion as to Its decision. ENG1NEMEN HURT OUT WEST S. . Ware and E. E. Odum Injnred by (he Explosion of Freight l.oromotlvt, Engineer S. N. vare and Fireman F. K. Odum were injured Saturday night near Colores, Wyo., by the explosion of a freight engine on the Union Pacific, which- wns one of a double header. Ware had his breast bone broken and Odum wns badly burned about the back and thigh. Al though the two engines were coupled to gether, the other engine wa not Injured. Although the investigation is not com pleted, It shows that the engine was in spected March 7 and that the cause was probably from want of water in the boiler.
