This announcement was made Friday after a Vona eonfereaco between the wool committee of the Commercial club headed by W. H- Bucbols and several railroad of .,...) The meetlnc was held In the com missioner's efflce In the Commercial club rooms. To ship wool to Chicago the grower must pay 19 cents more per 100 pounds from al most all points In the west than the rate to the Mississippi river. But when tba wool la shipped out from Chicago to Boston or the east the rate is but 74 cents less than the rate from the Mississippi river, which makes it cost wool growers t cents more for every 100 pounds sent to Chicago than If the wool waa sent to Omaha. In selling a big clip . IH cents on each 100 pounds amounts to the storage charges on lu pounds for three weeks, and wool growers will be more likely to ship wool to Omaha than to Chicago under the present arrange ment. W. H. Buchols leaves Sunday for Idaho and Utah, where he will go Into the wool situation thoroughly. He has Just re turned from Chicago and Boston, where be studied the methods of handling and selling the wool, talked with mnuao turers and commission houses. Now he Is to go west to the source of the wool supply and will have conferences with a number of large flockmaster. After the meeting Friday Mr. Buchols said: ' "The Interest of Omaha business men In the wool market Is not abated. In fact It Is greater than before and ws have dis cussed tentative plana for the organisation which doubtless will be necessary to ban die the business. The rstlroad men are with us and we have received everything for which we have asked." LONE WANT AD DOES THE WORK Tweatr Cents Worth ef Prlaters' Ink Sells Article that Mas DraS aa Market. For six months a Harney street business house had a cash register, which was too mall for Its use. In the show window, marked "For Bale, $nV' But the register did not sell. On an average of 1,000 persons each day passed the window, until the price asked for the register waa known to almost every cltlsen of Omaha, South Omaha and Council Bluffs. One day the tlfi was changed to 115 50 and all noticed the change, because they were wondering when the firm would sell the register for $15. ' Inquiry as to why the price was ad vanced disclosed the fact that the firm had Inserted a want ad. in The Bee, at a coat of 10 cents, and Immediately marked up the price of the register, not only paying for the cost of the ad., but securing SS cents more than the original price. The cash register was sold for Hi iO the day after tne ad. was inserted. C. M. Sheldon at Y.W. C.A. Opening Topeka Preacher-Author and Rev. William Burgess of Chicago Will Make Addresses. Rev.
