CATTLE Receipts of cauie were quite
liberal this morning, 194 cars being re
ported in. as agalna: 152 one week ago and
101 two weeks ago. Receipts todsy were,
in fact, the heaviest that they have been
for a Monday aince January 11. The qual
ity of tile cattle waa veiy fair, there be
ing a liberal sprinkling of desirable fat
stuff.
Most all packers had their representatives
In tha yards early this morning, and th
market opened quite brie mini all desir
able kinds, selling very freely at prices
that were generally strong to Kc higher
than laat week's close. L'nder the influence
of a very good demand, pretty much every
thing had sold before 10 o'clock In the
morning. Good steers sold up .is high as
tn.it with nulla a spi Inkling of cauls belter
loan In.OU.
Cows and hellers were also in active de
mand, and they, too, experienced about the
same advance a bef steurs. selling gen
erally strung to 1c higher man laat we-K s

market, throughout, and entirely satisfac
tory to tha aelllng Interests.
Speculators were free buyers of stockers
and. as the supplies were nut very large,
everything changed hands in good season.
Prices paid for the moat dalrable cattle
looked abojt 10c hlgner than last week
with all grades atrong at least. The ad
vance haa given the feeder market a little
better lone, ihe country demand showing a
corresponding Improvement.
