HOUS Receipts of hogs numbered 230
cars, about 15,500 head, a very ducont run
for this market for the day and Uie season.
Receipts at Chicago overrun the estimates,
so that general conditions all around wers
decidedly unfavorable to sellers, with the
result that prices got a setback of 10c as
compared with yeeterday'a general market.
Dealers were slow in getting to work, so
that It was well along toward noon before
any great amount of trading had been
done and at the best the market waa
dragging and unsatisfactory. Shortfed stuff
and common packing grades felt the most
loss and prices on soma of these were the
lowest that they have been In some time.
The bulk of the hogs sold at and around
86.8066.10, as against a bulk yesterday of
S6.OWu4i.2u. Tha top today was 86.26. as
against a top yesterday of 86.3s. Local ac
tivity Improved conditions considerably
toward the close, so thst the later trade
was more satisfactory as to movement at
leaat.
