Local dressed beef men were all out early
wrth 1 tiorai nrrirra to rill, fartiy on ac
count of the meager offering, and partly
owing to the more ouiusn tone 10 tne aa
vlces from other points caused the market
to be active and fully lofifl5o higher from
start to finish. The advsnce wa mot
pronounced on the warmed-up and hort
fed cattle, as all classes of buyer have
been compelled to fill order from theei
grade In the absence ot better kinds of
cattle.
The market on cow and' heifer snowed
fully as muoh advance as fat cattle, if not
more. There were only about twenty-five
load on sale, and with both local packer
and eastern buyers after them everything
changed hands quickly at prices on all
kinds 10 30c higher than yesterday, or as
good as any time last week. Veal calve

active market for bulls, stags, etc.
While there waa not a great deal 01 mis-

were firm and the demand from all sources
was considerably greater than the supply.
Fleshy snd well-finished steers are selling
the highest of the season, even the medium

difficulty. The lower price of corn and the
high price of fat cattle have greatly In
creased the demsnd for feeders, while tne
supply at this time of the year, as usual.
