CATTLE Receipts of cattle this morning
were again very moderate, only seventy
three cars buing reported In. The demand
was very good for a few killers, and the
market In consequence In a good, healthy
condition. However, at this season of the
year the demand Is never any too large,
and the feeling la that heavy receipts
would be very likely to depress the market.
Still, the presunt situation Is very satis
factory. Buyera were out early In the morning
and the few beef cattle In sight were
snapped up In short order, at prices that
were saieiy ltxo-ioc Higher than yesterday.
In other worda. the market for the week
to date la 26&40c higher than the close ot
last week. There were no choice cattle
here today to tut a ton on the market.
but some fair, war mud up steera brought
$6.40. . .......
- Cowa and heifers were also In good de
mand, and the thirty or thirty-five loads
on sale were taken very quickly, prlcea
oeing generally iuo nigner tnau yester
day, or 2fij40o higher than last week. .
There were hardlv enoua-h atockers and
feeders here to talk about, but what few
mere were sold at good, strong prices.

SHEEP Receipts this morning consisted
of only four cars. There were two cars of
pretty decent lambs which sold at $7, the
market being quoted SSo higher than yea
terday, when tha top on lambs very much
on the same order were $6.76. Sheep were
also a quarter higher, a pretty decent bunch
or ewea cringing m. as was noten yester
day, while there la a demand for a few
sheep and lambs, the buying capacity of
peckers is aomewnat limited during tne
holiday season and the feeling la that any
thing like large receipts would break prices
down again about aa rapidly aa they have
advanced. MtxTerate ahipments are gener
ally advised until after the holidays are
past.
Today a aavanre, raxen in connection
Ith the strength shown yesterday and day
before, wipes out practically all of last
week's Inns. Tn other words lambs are
50in5e higher than the low day laat Week
