This Is the main ractor in restricting activity in the stock market. The local allotment of the Bra- Ulan coffee loan was so largely sub scrioea mat tne lists were closed as soon as opened. It la not surorislng that the markets throughout the country have uirered a .severe .reverse, trices every where have declined rapidly, this market comiug In for Its full share of grief. With large receipts again today the downward movement was continued and values were everywhere lower, with the trade slow and dull. At this point the forenoon was well advanced before buyers and sellers could get together on a trading point and 11 was afternoon before anything like a clearance was errnrted. The best beef steers were possibly not verv much lower, but other grades were weak with a lower tendency. The fact Is the market yesterday and the day before waa so uneven that It was not an easy matter to make comoarlauns and hardly any two salesmen were calling the market the same. What has been said regarding the steer market would apply eaually well to the trade In cows and heifers, the marKet De lng slow and anywhere from pretty nearly steady on the best to dull ana lower on tne least desirable. Btrictly good feeders have been in pretty fair demand all the week and the market on that kind of stock did not snow tnucn change. In fact, good feeders were gen erally quoted aa fully steady. Inferior grades as has been frequently noted of late, have been slow and hard to sell every day. the demand for that kind of rattle belner extremely light.
