The market a whole did not show anr very mate rial change, prices for the) most part being about steady. Packers were out In fair season In tha morning and they evidently wanted a few good killers. Tha result was that desira ble Kinds or tat steers oommanoM just about the same ' prices aa prevailed on yesterday's market, at least the better grades sold that way. Inferior kinds were a little slow, but that baa been the ea practically every day this week. What has been saea regaraing oeer si were would apply In a large degree to tha cow and heifer trade. The better grades were In very fair demand and the trade on that kind waa sufficiently active to effect a reasonably earlv cleavrance. Feeders of good quality hare been in active demand all the week and specu lators have bought everything desirable In sight In anticipation ot a very good coun try demand. As the aemana naa not Droved aa extensive aa anticipated good many cattle have accumulated In the hands or speculators, with the result mac they were not so eager for supplies this morning. In consequence ot uus tnere was a decidedly weaker feeling noticeable even on the very best grades, common and inferior kinds were slow, the same as thev have been every day. uuotatlons on sneep ana lamps: uooo 10 choice lambs. 36.6W7.00: fair to good Iambs 36.0U&&65; feeding lambs, 34 .3568.60; good to Choice light yearlings, 15.2Vfl6.75; fair to good heavy yearlings, 34.756.16; feeding yearlings. 44.uu3n.t1u: gooa to cnoice wetnera 84 25fc-60; fair to good wethers, 84.004 4.25: feeding wethers, 33.5o4j4.00; good to choice ewes. 34-OWN. 26: fOr to good awes. 83.2&&4.00; feeding ewes, $2.0064.25: culls and bucks, 3100-2.00. In fact quite a liberal run, and the market as a whole was In very satis factory condition. Under the Influence of more favorable ad v Iocs from other Belling point and a good local demand, tha mar ket opened 6a higher than yesterday. The trade, however, was not very aotlv at tha advance, salesmen holding on in an en deavor to seeure every cent possible, while packer were not overly anxious to Doost r rices. Still, the hogs kept selling and the desirable loads for the moat part cnanged nan as in pretty lair season, as a matter of course the common and Inferior grade did not In all cases show as much advance noted above. Ths bulk of all the hora sold at 35.464J .to and on up as nigh as 16.80. Heprssentatlv salts: Ma As. Sa. rr. As has been th case every day, th bulk of th arrivals consisted of lambs, while there were hardly enough sheep In sight to talk about. It Is fortunate, however. that such la the case, as ths demand at th present time seems to be largely for lambs. whlls the inquiry for fed sheep Is less urgent than usual at this point. As a re sult of the very good demand for fat lamb the trade waa active, with prices liflSc higher than yesterday. Good fed lambs sold . up to 37.00, the highest price paid since' July, when lambs also reached $7.00. With that exception it Is the highest pric paid since May, when 67.86 was ths top. Sheep were in fair demand ana tiie rew in sight commanded firm prices. Prac tically everything on sale, or at least every thing In tb way of desirable killers sold early In th morning. There were ftaraly enougn leeaer on sal to talk about, but a few lambs brought 36.60, with another bunch at 34.76.
