Trade In oats was quiet and the market
was steady all day. At the close prices

the previous close. December closed at

Provisions were weak at the start, but
made a fair rally later In the session on
covering bv shorts. At the close prices
were loo lower to 26o higher.

down over the Missouri valley to the west
Gulf states, with Its crest still overhang
ing the west Canadian provinces, causing
a decided drop In temperature throughout
the extreme upper Mississippi and Missouri
valleys. The first killing frost of the sea
son at Omaha occurred this morning and
light to heavy frosts were again general
laat night In the lower valleys, reaching
south to northern Louistatna: The dlaturb
ance on the south Atlantic coast lias In
creased In energy and heavy rains- have
fallen In the south Atlantic atates, and
cloudy snd unsettled weather is general
along the eastern coast. Light snows are
reported In North Dakota and the Cana
dian provinces, with rains In western Mon
tana and Idaho. The weather is fair In the
central valleya and west Into the moun

this week.
A large proportion of th receipt con
sisted of feeders and the most of the in
terest centered In the trade on that kind
of stuff. Country buyers wero In large at
tendance and anxious to take something
back with them. As a result th market waa
active and pricea anvwher from steady to

Is the feeder market all this week has

quality of the cattle this morning wss
better then it has been during the last
three or four dsys at least there were
more and better killing cattle than have
been seen lately.
As waa the case yesterday. Teeder buy
ers were the first to begin operations and
