John Schott. buyer for A. Franck ft Co, of Bt. Louia. la in Omaha and aaye the SL Louie buyeri and manufacturer favor the warehouse being located at Omaha for many reasons and believe It to be the most conveniently located city. He saya Bt. Louis buyers would not to to Chicago to secure wool and stand for the switching charre which would be tacked to the freight charges. Ir. Bchott Is buying wool at the Omaha "Wool and Btorage company plant Arthur E. Pelrce of Boston, who has bought eome wool In Omaha and Is to re turn for more in the near future, objects to th proposition of the Chicago Commer cial association. It Is understood the Chi tago Commercial association has offered to glv the Natlnonal Wool Growers1 assocla tloa ten acres of land on which to build th warehouse In the event Chicago Is se lected as the city for the big warehouse, Weald Be ia the Coaatry. Tn acres of land "In Chicago" means U will be located away, out toward Zion City or some other "forty miles point," accord- lng to the wool buyers. It Is not expected that even the generous Commercial asso ciation of Chlcsgo will give wool growers ten acre of land along State street or near railroad terminal where car could be set In without switching charges. It Is estimated that there would be a IS witching charge on every carload switched to th "ten acres," and another $6 would be extracted from the buyer or grower when' the wool was sold and shipped out.' This entire charge or $10 per car I elimi nated by the .railroad companies running In and out of Omaha. By arrangement with th Great Western there I no witch ing charge oh Incoming wool sent to Omaha and stored tn the warehouse. When .the wool goes out there la a switching charge f fJ. which Is absorbed by the line taking the wool out. 1 That the Omaha Wool and Storage com pany ha been able to secure good prices, I shown by the price obtained for four carloads of low grsde wool last week, which brought cents and the buyer paid th 'freight through to Boston, amounting to 12.02 per' 100, which made the price equivalent to 16V4 to 17 cents per pound. This 1 a full 6 cent higher than the buyers told wool growers all over tfie west they would be able to pay thl year. n EXTRA SPECIAL!
