Sept 1Z Reinstatement today by leading bulla of lines sold out yesterday caused .trength In the wheat market, final quotations showing net gains of c to ,'aTiiC. Corn and oats closed steady, while provisions were strong. The wheat market displayed considerable bullishness nearly all day, despite the record-breaking movement of new wheat In the northwest. A' slight dip occurred dur ing the first half hour, due to selling based on tlie llboral receipts at-Minneapolis and Duluth, but the narket soon rallied again and continued firm the remainder of the day. Arrivals today at Minneapolis were 516 cars, and Duluth reported 520 cars, while Winnipeg followed closely with 387, cars, compared with thirty-six cars a year ago. This enormous movement failed to af fect the market to any great extent, be cause of the fact that the demand for casn wheat in the northwest was more than equal to the supply and today's entire re . celpts were eagerly taken by millers within an hour after they were placed on sale. A few of the bull leadera who. were fre sel ers yesterday . gave the market .vigorous support today and this buying was largely responsible rof tne 'irmione wnci iire vailed the greater part W the day." The Higher cables, continued itry weather In the southwest and .continued firm wheat mar kets, were the factors that inspired buying. Heavy realising sales caused weakness In the corn marked early in the day par ticularly In the September delivery, which declined la during the first bour. Totals- 1C3 2.949 CATTLE There was "nothing out of the ordinary doing In the' tattln division today, it being practically a holiday, as usual on a Saturday. There were a few scs tiering bunrhes of cattle, but not enough of any tnlng to Interest buyers or miike any show ing on the market whatever. The receipis fur tha week have been very liberal, al though falling short of last week's total by about 2,0oo head and a still larger de crease as compared with a year ago. The market as a whole has been in a good, healthy condition throughout the week. The supply of beef steers haa consisted very largely of graasers from the range, which have been In.-very good demand throughout the .week, 'with - a tendency to ward firmness in. values. At the close of the week It Is safe to -quote an advanoe of 1041 5o on the gnera1 run of range beel. On tha other hand, com. fed cattle have not been so much sought after. There neemed to be a demand for a few cattle of that de scription every day. -but buyers have be n Inclined to give the preference ti the graasere, with the result that when the re ceipts .of corn-feds', became --considerably larger the middle of the week, the trade was pretty dull and -prices very uneven. Still Irlffh as $7:5tr wa paid for the best cattle. The market on stockers and feeders has shown more life this week than anv time ?o far this season Fleshy feeders', well ired and of good quality, have been gond sellers all the week right up until the close, when the market la generally quoted locjil6c higher than 'one week ago. Light alid Inferior grades, while not showing so much advance, have, m yertheh ts,. sold to fairly good advantage, and ut the close of the week are fully steady. While a good many rtocker and feeders have been re ceived during' the wo-fk, the country haa bought freely, and at the close the yardt are practically cleared, f-.-w.-r cattle being left In the hands of speculators than for a number of weeks back. Receipts of hogs this week have been very light, showing a large falling off as compared with reoent weeks and at the same time a decrease-' of .utmost one-naif as compared' with the corresponding week of last year. Under the infisnce of light runs and a good demand, prices have grad ually nrmed up, in. spite or the .fact it at packers have opposed all advances si far as rosxlble.
