PREDICTIONS FOR FUTURES MIXED Heeelpta Are Dairy Banning; Orer E llmitw aad "ttl U C'nsreeded that Prices . Will Com to Lower Level. ' OMAHA, Sept. 8, IV. Heavy receipt and large expected coun try shipments take the edge off grain val ues. Northwest markets came 'lower and selling bm general and offerings wert nacgwam and slowly taken. tenumcnt runs mixed as to the future action of val ues, but receipts are running over the esti mates dally and It la conceded that If they continual lara.- prices will have to come to a lower level. Wheat proved a dull affair owing to the short, Saturday session and the holiday to oome Munday. Short Selling on the larger northwestern receipts proved the real factor for the docllne. Advices show a good demand all along the line, and this should sustain prices. September wheat opened at 9oc and closed at S2Hc. Corn sold off moderately on renllslng. The weather continues Ideal throughout the belt, and the forecast Is for oontinucd fair condition.- Klie weather Is still the Im portant fator with the deferred futures. It might he said, how ever, that the feeling was about steady with yesterday. For'the week the. receipts have been -quite Tiberal, showing a gain oven previous weeks of recent date and being about on a par woth the receipts of the corresponding week of last year. The mar ket as a wholo baa been In sDiendid condi tion as viewed frv a.. seller's standpoint. in spite or tne race- mat the arrivals on most days have been, large the demand has been sufficiently urgent to take everything coming, with the result that the market throughout the week baa been In a good healthy condition. .- Handly enough corn-fed steers have been received during tha .week to make a real test of the market Nen, that kind, the ar rivals being Jlmittd-to a load or two a lay.itlil the Xew1(5Utle of that kind ar riving have -met UMlttar very ready sale at strong prlueg ,as compared with last. week. Range beef rattle- have been active sellers cm -practically ee .day throughout- the week, with prices qttoled steady or strong until at the close It Is safe to say that the general market Is around loal6c higher than It was at the rtose of last-week. The way buyurs have taken everything coming It has been very evident that they have had a place to put the cattle and that may be taken as an explanation of the fact that prices have advanced in the face of very liberal receipts. The market on wi and heifers also has betn In very saiisfaetory condition through out the whole week;. .Tne demand has been active, so that each dav's arrlvRls hnv met with quite ready sale at prices showing more or less strength from day to day. The total for the week foots up 8S.274 head, the largest run of the year to date, and larger than a year ago by 30,000 head or more. Notwithstanding the verv large receipts. the market has been in a good, healthy condition throughout the whole week. There has been a sufficient demand to take care of everything coming, so that each day's arrivals have sold readily, and, as a rule, been cleaned up before the close of the. day. In fact, about the only thing that has been carried over here oni any day has been the odds and ends, which buyers and sellers could not get at In time to clean up before the close ot the mar ket. Large receipts, both here and at other selling points as well, has given values a downward tendency . everywhere, with the result that at the close of the week the market here -on sheep Is generally quoted around WKg30o lower on the general run of stuff, with occasional sales showing a lit tle more loss than that, possibly as much as 40 per cent. On the other hand, some sales the latter part of the week could be pointed out that would not look much over 16c lower. Feeder lambs suffered the most decline, the general run of them selling around 60o lower at the close of the week owing to the fact that a very considerable propor tion of all the receipts consisted of that kind of stuff.' Fat lambs declined 264f40c, as a general thing, with occasional sale as much as 4XKawc lower man last wee. Prosnectlve feeders of sheep , and lambs will note that the market Is now very much lower than It was one year ago. 1 nus. aur lng the month of September last year, feeder buyers paid as high bs 37.16 for full loads of lambs; as high as 36 00 for yearlings and 35.00 for wes. This week pretty good feeding lambs have sold nt 35-00 and yearlings at 34.00, there being; a difference of 32.00. In the top sales as between this year and last.
