CATTLE For a Thursday receipts of cat

being reported in, the largest for a Thurs
day since two weeks ago. Among the ar
rivals were a lew natives and a few corn

the fact that the receipts yesterday were
very lsrge and that the total for the week
was right close up to lsst week s heavy

years Ago, the demand today waa very fair
ana tne market aa a whole In a good.
healthy condition. J
Buyers all seemed, to want a few beef
steers and were accordingly out In th
yards in pretty good season in ths morning,
The trade waa reasonable active without
any very noteworthy change in the prices
in laci, operators on tne market as a rule
were quoting a good, steady market.
On the other hand, cows snd heifers were.
if anything, a little stronger than yester
day. It would appear that In spite of the
very liberal receipts, buyers have been un
able to secure quite aa many cows and
heifers as they could use. with the result
thst the market during the last two or
three dsys has been firming up. while the
trade has been active. Pretty much every
thing In the way of cow stuff sold In pretty
good seaaon this morning. Stockers and
feeders sold very well, prices remaining at
about yesterday s notches.
