this morning, as compared with yester
day's big run, only nmeiy-iwo frcsn cats
being reported In. As was lhe caaa yester
day the offering consisted almost entirely
of rangers, there being very luw natives
or corn-feds on gale.
Wltn lighter receipts, ths market on
beef steers took on a more active appear
ancn tortav and th. nrfiiti v in. iid ,n.i
Vart changed hands in very good season
in the morning. Corn-fed cauls of good
quality were generally a little strongor
than yesterday. Thus the Graham cattle,
which brought $7.66 jesterday sold ut $7.70
today. Half fat or warmed up grades of
cattle were not sought after to anv great
extent. Western beef was In good demand
and generally lOtjiJc higher than yester
day. That mean that uuyers put back
today what they took off yesterday, west
erns selling about where they did last
week. .
There were not far from thirty cars of
cows and heifers on sale, a good share
of them westerns. They, too, showed a
little more strength being not only more
sctive than yesterday, but selling at a
little better prices.
The stocker and feeder demand from th
country continue light and the movement
of that kind of cattle and none too brisk.
Fortunately there were only a few In first
hands so that prices did not show very
much change.

8HEKP-
morning, twenty-seven cars being roporiad
in. As has been the esse all tne week, al
most everything in sight consisted ot
rangers wUh very little led stuff. It will
be ismembered tnat yesterday the market
quoted a round 26c lower on lambs, while
sneep were generally steady, some of the
first sales In the morning If anything being
stronger. Today's sheep were 16u26c lower,
some of those tnat sold early yesterday
at strong prices showing even more decline
than that, although possibly there may
have been a little difference In the quality.
Lambs were viiry scarce today and they
did not snow very much change, having
taken their decline yesterday. The trade
was rather alow at the decline, buyers
bctng inclined to take their time In mak
ing selections, while salesmen held on in
an endeavor to maintain prices as far as
possible.
An examination of th Chiras-n mai-ir.t
will show why prices at this point were
1" today. At Chicago yesterday the
highest price psid for a big bunch of range
wethers, according to th rhie rim...
Journal, was 84.40, while range wethers at
this point brought 84.60. The same papers
reported the best Idaho lambs selling at
t 75. th same pries that was paid here for
ton lambs.
