When You Have Something (hat is a Necessity You Have a Proposition of Merit
t'jrr AVE YOU ever studied the needs of Omaha as a manufacturing center? Have you ever realized that it has no manufacturing district? Do you
jj know that, until now, there has been no available room for large manufactories which require several acres of ground? Many manufactur
ers have faced this difficulty. The Ralston Townsite Company has solved this problem. After looking at dozens of sites in and around,
Omaha we found that RALSTON was the only site which possessed every favorable condition required. The town of Ralston has now been started.
It is six miles from the Omaha postoffice and two miles west of South Omaha. It has ample railroad facilities, a level site, a healthy one for
workmen and one, above all, where there is plenty of room. Here the Car Company will immediately commence to build an immense plant to em
ploy over 300 men who, with their families, will bring over 1,500 people, and the Howard Stove Mfg. Co., which will employ 150 men, is now build
ing. There is great promise that other large factories will locate aj RALSTON on account of the favorable conditions there. The site of Ralston
was for years the country home of Dr. Miller, who beautified the tract regardless of expense. He constructed a lake fed by an artesian well 1,500
feet deep. He developed a system of natural boulevards, parked the entire tract, covering it with trees which have now grown to magnificent
maturity. A macadam road was built through the land to South Omaha. Besides the street railway which is soon to be built, Ralston is crossed
by three great railroads and is tapped by the Omaha Belt Line.
